A former member of staff, nurse Deb Roan, today opened the new mobile breast cancer screening unit in Wells.

Deb was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer in 2024 and after treatment and surgery she now is a huge advocate for early screening, diagnosis and treatment.
She explained, ‘I was asymptomatic with no family history- it’s important to attend breast screening invitations’.

We are all so proud of Deb - Well Done on your starring role today! 💫💕🩷

Today we say thankyou and goodbye to Olivia who has worked as a nurse here at WCH for 2 years. She is off to London to work in an Acute Medical Unit… we will miss her but wish her lots of luck and happiness.

This morning we said goodbye to Holly Knight. Holly has been an integral part of the team here - working as a Welfare Officer for the Defence Medical Welfare Service.
She has provided huge support to our veterans and will be greatly missed by everyone at WCH.
Wishing you every success in your new role Holly. 💫

What a delight it was to welcome Francesca back to play for our patients, staff and visitors this morning. The harp has such a lovely sound and it was played beautifully.

Thankyou to Francesca (and Dad Charlie) who brought some joy to the hospital today.

So it’s an ideal day to celebrate our wonderful PAT dog Bonnie, who visits with owner Dave every Wednesday.
Her calm, loving nature and perfect manners make her the ideal PAT dog.
