During this period of hot weather take a moment to check you are storing your medications correctly.

Try to collect your prescriptions when you are on the way home rather than leaving them in your car for a prolonged period of time.

The efficacy of your medications might be altered by extremes of temperature.

‼️⛔️🚨 ADVANCE NOTICE 🚨⛔️‼️

We have been advised that from Monday June 22nd there will be temporary traffic lights involving the entrance to the village carpark at Twyford. The works are anticipated to last approximately 3 weeks. (See attached photos).

This is bound to cause congestion & difficulties entering & exiting the carpark.

If you are collecting regular repeat medication you may find it easier to visit later in the day.

Following some really wet weather the sun has finally started to arrive & for those of you with allergies it will also signal hayfever season.

If you need advice on the best remedies for the symptoms you experience or just want to top up your antihistamine supplies please pop into the Pharmacy 🤧😭🫩

Hay fever season is fast approaching so it’s important to take steps to protect yourself if you suffer with it.

Hay fever is a common allergy to pollen that causes symptoms a bit like a cold – these can include sneezing and coughing, runny nose, red or itchy eyes, headaches and tiredness. There is no cure for it, but there are treatments that can help and your pharmacist will be able to advise on the best for you.

Here are some of our top tips on managing hay fever:

Do...

✅️ put petroleum jelly (such as Vaseline) around your nostrils to trap pollen
✅️ wear wraparound sunglasses, a mask or a wide-brimmed hat to stop pollen getting into your nose and eyes
✅️ shower and change your clothes after you have been outside to wash pollen off
✅️ keep windows and doors shut as much as possible
✅️ vacuum regularly and dust with a damp cloth
✅️ try to use a pollen filter in the air vents of your car, if you have one, and a HEPA filter in your vacuum cleaner

Don’t...

❌️ cut grass or walk on grass
❌️ spend too much time outside
❌️ keep fresh flowers in the house
❌️ smoke or be around smoke – it makes your symptoms worse
❌️ dry clothes outside – they can catch pollen
