We were so pleased to welcome Wi******er Youth Counselling to Chesil House for their Spring Garden Party 🌸

It was a lovely evening in support of an incredibly important local charity, raising funds to help prevent youth su***de and support young people in our community.

A huge well done to everyone involved, and thank you to all who came along, donated, shared the auction, bought raffle tickets, and supported the evening.

We are very proud to support Wi******er Youth Counselling as our Charity of the Year 🤍

What do you say to someone who is grieving, even when you’re terrified of saying the wrong thing? 🤍

So often, people stay silent because they’re afraid of upsetting someone. But for a person who is grieving, silence can feel like being left alone in their pain.

The truth is:
You do not need perfect words.
You do not need to fix their grief.
You just need to show up with kindness, honesty and care.

A few simple ways to help:
• Say their loved one’s name
• Reach out, even if it’s just to say “I’m thinking of you”
• Listen without trying to fix things
• Offer practical help they can really use
• Avoid phrases like “I know how you feel” or “They’re in a better place”

Grief is as unique as the love behind it. While we cannot take away someone’s pain, we can help them feel less alone in it.

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is simply acknowledge their loss and stay present.

A big thank you to Pippa and Chaz from Shawford Springs Care Home for their lovely feedback, and for joining us to learn more about the care we provide when someone is brought into our care 🤍

We’re really proud of the standards our team uphold every day, and believe it’s important to be open about what we do and how we do it.

Welcoming care home teams, medical students and other local care professionals gives people a better understanding of the journey, and helps ensure the same level of dignity and care is carried through at every step 🕊️

Continuation of Care🤍🕊️

Yesterday our senior carers Pippa and Chaz attended an informative training session around continuation of care at Richard Steel & Partners with Dave and Lee.
This training session allowed them to gain a better understanding of how loved ones are cared for once they leave our home.
