Buddhafield Online events, Buddhist retreats, a vegan café, community land workdays and a conscious Festival.

The Buddhafield Festival offers an intimate gathering of 3,000, a joyful and unique blend of community in a drink-and-drug-free environment. Sing, dance, and explore with like minded people, from all traditions, in a family-friendly space, allowing hearts to open and children to roam free. There are hundreds of life changing workshops, including Yoga, meditation teaching, talks, Dharma discussion, with large scale rituals most evenings. A host of independent spaces run daily programmes, including Green Crafts & Permaculture, Social Change, Kids and Teens, along with a Healing area of over 70 practitioners. Live music and Cabaret perform in intimate venues throughout the day with storytelling and acoustic music during the night. Ethically, we’re proud to say that the whole festival runs on wind or solar energy, save the gas for cooking. We serve high quality, vegan and vegetarian delights with wood fired showers, saunas and hot tubs, running day and night, using only compost toilets, described as the ‘best festival toilets ever!

We're really glad to be doing another retreat for the LGBTQIA+ community! We're holding this 7 day retreat on our land at Bowerwood in Easy Devon next June. The retreat leaders are 3 members of the Triratna Buddhist Order who have a wide range of q***r lived experience and many years of buddhist practice.

All Buddhafield retreats are outside in nature and your accomodation is your tent or your live-in vehicle. The food is all vegan and mostly organic and there are urns and plenty of choice of hot beverages throughout the day.

Take a look at the website to learn more, there is an FAQ section there too. If you have any questions not answered there then contact us on our online form on the website.

Today marks the Autumn Equinox, also know as Mabon. Day and night are of equal length, the last of the harvest is being gathered in, nature is turning, revealing vibrant colours before branches become bare. We remember what cold feels like and welcome the rain after a very dry summer. In the Wheel of the Year, and the Buddha Mandala, we move to the West. The time of sunset, and the place of Pandaravasini and Amitabha. In the Pagan tradition the West is the place of the water element, in Buddhism the West is the place of the fire element. This feels in harmony with the teaching of the Autumn Equinox in the spirit of balance and integration, dark and light, day and night, fire and water.

Many of us have recently returned from Green Earth Awakening where we explored Joanna Macy’s Work that Reconnects spiral path of - Gratitude, Honouring our Pain, Seeing with New Eyes, and Going Forth. We journeyed in community, enjoying the last barefoot dances of the late summer before letting go to turn inwards for the darker part of the year. These stages of the Work that Reconnects can also show us more of the teachings of the Equinox where we give gratitude for all the beautiful and challenging moments experienced over the summer. We may want to journal gratitudes and reflect upon the season before we let it go. Honouring our Pain can relate to the grief of the end of summer, the close of the festival season, letting go of long, bright, warm days being out in the sun with friends. Seeing with New Eyes we can delight in the radiant colours of Autumn, welcoming the turn towards the darker part of the year, and seeing the possibilities of this new season. Going Forth we can embrace the change to going inwards, reflecting on the learnings of the summer, giving time for integration, and stepping forth into this season with our whole self.
