Medicana Wi******er has successfully completed its first total knee replacement and first unicompartmental knee replacement, performed by Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon Mr Jon Palmer! 🙌

What's the difference?👇

Total Knee Replacement: replaces all three compartments of the knee. More invasive with a longer recovery (8–12+ weeks), but ideal for widespread arthritis, offering excellent stability and typically lasting 15–20+ years.

Uni Knee Replacement: targets a single damaged compartment, preserving healthy bone and cartilage. Less invasive with a faster recovery – suited to more isolated damage.

Two procedures, one shared goal: delivering the right treatment for each patient’s individual needs. We’re pleased to share that both patients are recovering well.

A fantastic achievement from Mr Palmer, our theatre team and everyone involved, helping our patients move beyond knee pain towards greater mobility and quality of life.
