As a nutrition practitioner, I spend a lot of my time helping people make sense of their health. While every client comes to me with their own story, goals and challenges, I've noticed there are certain topics that come up again and again. Many people feel overwhelmed by conflicting nutrition advice...

🍏 Does this nourish me, or does it deplete me? 🍏

It’s a question I’ve started asking myself more and more.

Not just about food, but about sleep, movement, stress, our phones, the people we spend time with and the way we live our everyday lives.

Especially as we get older, I think it becomes harder to keep borrowing from tomorrow without eventually feeling the effects.

My latest blog looks at what it really means to nourish ourselves, and why health is often built through the small choices we make every day. 🌱

Have a read here

Health is rarely built through grand gestures. It is shaped by thousands of tiny decisions, each one either replenishing our reserves or quietly drawing from them. And so I keep returning to the same question, because it cuts through complexity better than almost anything else. Does this nourish me,...

Electrolytes - are you taking them? Do you think you need them? What do you need to look for if you do take them?

I'm being asked about them non-stop in this heat wave. I take them, but for a very good reason and not the reason you should. Want to know more? Have a read of my blog https://www.wildapplenutrition.co.uk/post/electrolytes and as always, happy to answer any questions and let you know the brand I take ###

Nutrigenomics looks at how your genes influence the way your body responds to food, nutrients, lifestyle and environment. It helps explain why people can respond so differently, even when doing seemingly similar things. It can help answer questions such as: Why does eating in a certain way leave one...

Well, this made my day 💚

It was an absolute pleasure to work with this lovely lady and get to the root cause of her bloating, constipation and chronic fatigue.

Using a functional medicine approach to get to the core of what is unbalanced and what is behind bloating, constipation and fatigue, means this client is less likely to be plagued with them again, or would know what to do or look for if she is.
We all put up with so much in our 40s. I often see women in this exact situation, but many of the drivers are different.

After all, we are all different.

No-one has your health history, lifestyle, diet, stress, family health history, likes and dislikes.

Seeing her health improve with each session made me so happy I had changed careers.

I like to be very clear when I work with a client. I let each client know WHY I ask the questions I do, what I think is happening on a cell or tissue, or biochemical pathway in their body, and finally why I make recommendations I do and what they can expect.

When people know why, it becomes exciting to follow a nutrition protocol. They understand the science. And I've never met anyone who isn't interested in how their body works and how it can improve.

I have a few spaces for June. See my link in bio to book a free health review if you'd like this to be you, or sign up to my newsletter just to keep in touch 💚

Met the lovely Sophie from recently and what started as a conversation on our work quickly turned into one of those chats where you realise your values completely align 💚

We ended up talking all things gut health, immune health, root-cause healing… and laughing a LOT along the way too (talking about stool tests can always raise a smile 🤣)

Sophie hand-batches her elderberry syrup in Berkshire with so much care and intention using whole organic elderberries a traditional immune-supporter, with no refined sugar, no preservatives, just real ingredients made to support the whole family 🍇✨

Honestly, we’ve flown through a bottle in our house this week already.

As a Nutritional Therapist , I typically see clients who are constantly run down, getting recurrent coughs/colds 😷, struggling with low energy tired 🥱, poor gut health 💩 😭 or feeling like their immune system just isn’t functioning optimally 🤒. And whilst there’s never one magic solution, I’m always talking about the importance of supporting the body consistently with nourishing foods, lifestyle changes and functional ingredients alongside deeper root-cause work. This is where Sophie steps in.

I love finding brands that genuinely care about quality, ingredients and supporting health in a natural, realistic way.

Keep an eye out for our upcoming post on 5 ways elderberry may help support the immune system 👀🍇 and who knows what we might do next… 😃

The Wellness Check that helps connect the dots

If you’ve been feeling exhausted, flat, run down, struggling with stress, headaches, poor sleep, hormonal symptoms, low mood, or simply not feeling like yourself lately, know that you don’t have to keep pushing through. One of the biggest frustrations I hear from women is: “My blood tests were...

I love working with blood tests. Take a good, comprehensive blood test, look at how markers relate to each other, look at symptoms, medications, supplements, health history, family history and lifestyle - and we’ve got one hell of a lot of information to form a personalised plan. 🤩🩸

This is exactly what I do with my Wellness Check (link in bio ) 🩸❤️

I’m taking on 3 Wellness Check clients before the Summer. If you’d like to know more then message me, comment below or book a free Health Review (again, link in bio ) and let’s get you your very own unique health protocol 💚

If you are a current client and due your annual check (trends REALLY matter), then message me on my app and I’ll get that booked this week 😃

- I love the pic!

I was delighted at being invited by to speak on a wellness panel this week alongside an NHS GP, Wealth Manager and a Public Health Nutritionist, talking to a room full of women, many busy mums and business owners, about health, energy, gut health and nutrition 🍏

As a Registered Nutritional Therapist, I look at health through a functional medicine lens, helping women understand what is actually driving symptoms rather than simply masking them.

One of the biggest conversations of the day was how to cut through all the noise online and focus on what really matters when it comes to women’s health 🍏

The questions before, during and after the panel were so interesting, but there were 3 that kept coming up again and again:

😴 When is tiredness more than just being busy, and how to spot the difference

💩 Can symptoms like IBS actually have a real functional root cause rather than being told it is just IBS?

🍎 What is the ONE nutrition change women could make this week that would genuinely make a difference?

The reaction to these conversations reminded me how many women are walking around feeling exhausted, bloated, flat or just not themselves, while being told everything is normal. Don’t accept this.

So this week’s newsletter is all about these 3 questions, the answers I gave on the panel, and the things I really think women need to know when it comes to energy, blood tests, gut health, functional testing, SIBO, stool testing and getting to the root cause of symptoms rather than just guessing 🍎

If you would like a copy, comment below, DM me or sign up via the link in my bio 💚

Discover how your genes influence your nutrient needs 🧬

Pleased to share that I have just become a certified nutrigenomics practitioner with

Ever feel like you’re doing everything right… but not getting the results? 😤

🍎Why does one way of eating leave someone energised and another person feeling awful?
🍎Why do some people thrive without supplements, while others really need them?
🍎Why can one person drink coffee all day and sleep, and another feel wired for hours?

This is where nutrigenomics comes in.

It looks at how your genes influence things like:
– Food responses (gluten, lactose, caffeine)
– Vitamin needs (folate, B12, vitamin D and more)
– Detoxification and inflammation
– Blood sugar, metabolism and even sleep patterns

It gives context.

It helps explain patterns.

And it allows your nutrition to become far more personalised 😊

I often start with the Nutrient Core report because it gives a really practical overview of how your body may function across all of these areas.

And the best part?

You only need to do it once.
Your genes do not change. 🧬😃

It becomes a blueprint you can use for life.

Not about diagnosing.
About understanding.

Not about quick fixes.
About informed choices.

If you’ve ever felt stuck or confused about what your body needs, this can be a really helpful place to start. Read all about it here https://www.wildapplenutrition.co.uk/post/understanding-your-body-through-nutrigenomics
