A phenomenal ยฃ10,000 raised for Cheshire Mind thanks to The The Kings Lock and the Something To Say Festival ๐
A whole week of fundraising at The Kings Lock in Middlewich, held in memory of local musician and guitar teacher Dave Speakman, culminated in the Something to Say music festival on Saturday 12 September.
Dave was passionate about music and believed everyone should have the chance to learn, regardless of their circumstances. He ran free group guitar lessons and built a studio in Middlewich that became a local hub for musicians.
The week of fundraising brought together many of the people Dave had touched through music, with prize bingo, an open mic night, a charity quiz, a raffle, and an auction leading up to the festival.
The name Something To Say comes from one of Daveโs own songs and also reflects an important message about talking and looking after our mental health.
The money raised will go directly back into the local community, helping us to continue delivering vital mental health services across Cheshire.
A huge thank you to everyone who made the week possible, from the organisers, performers, and volunteers to everyone who donated, provided prizes, bought tickets, took part, shared the fundraising, or supported the team behind the scenes ๐
