Why volunteer at parkrun? 💚

You don’t have to run to benefit.

Volunteering at parkrun can boost your mental wellbeing, reduce loneliness, build friendships, give you a sense of purpose, get you outdoors, keep you active, and help create a healthier, happier community.

Just a couple of hours on a Saturday morning can make a real difference to others and to you (maybe turn up at 0830 if it’s your first time, to the Black Rocks cafe and follow the noise).
We really need you over the summer holidays as our usual volunteers go on holiday(and it’s nicer in the dry)! We need around 18 people to make this work each week and you don’t need any prior experience at all. Reply to this message if you are intending to come.

Please come and join us. Everyone is welcome. 🌳☕🙌

✨ We’re thrilled to share some fantastic news! ✨

The National GP Patient Survey, run annually by Ipsos on behalf of NHS England, gathers feedback from over 2 million patients across England, helping compare how people feel about their GP practice. 🩺

💙 We are incredibly proud to report that our reception and admin team achieved an outstanding 97% score, well above both our local integrated care system average and the national average!

🌟 Even more impressive, 70% of patients described our team as “Very Helpful”, compared to a national average of 44%.

🙌 It means a lot to us that you, our patients, find us approachable and easy to contact. Our reception and admin team play a vital role in making this happen every day, and this recognition reflects their dedication, compassion, and consistently high standards.

📝 We’d love your feedback too because we know we can always do better!
We’re currently running our own patient survey, if you haven’t completed it yet, please take a moment to do so:

📄 Or feel free to pick up a paper copy from the practice.

Thank you for your continued support! 💚

Essential work is being carried out on our internet systems tomorrow (Tuesday 21st July) around 12 - 12:45pm 🕛

During this time, we expect a brief interruption to our services while we switch systems. The outage is expected to last around 2 minutes, but it may take longer if any unexpected issues arise, this may mean, a delay in getting through on the phone. ⏳

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience and understanding while this maintenance work is completed. 🙏

We are incredibly proud to share the story of our patients, Chris and Denise Mitchell, here at Hannage Brook.

💙 Recently honoured at the Palace of Westminster with a British Citizen Award for Services to the Community, Chris and Denise have dedicated over 40 years to providing love, care and stability to children who need it most. They have adopted three children with Down’s syndrome and cared for vulnerable foster babies with complex medical needs, offering safety, compassion and the very best start in life.
Their journey is nothing short of remarkable, inspiring, humbling, and a powerful reminder of the life‑changing impact fostering and adoption can have.

From all of us at Hannage Brook, it is a pleasure to celebrate your achievement. Your award is truly deserved, and your commitment is something our whole community can be proud of.

If their story has inspired you, you can learn more about fostering and adoption through: https://www.derbyshire.gov.uk/social-health/children-and-families/foster/foster-for-east-midlands.aspx
