It’s 11pm. He’s finally finished screaming at me but the atmosphere in the house is so tense I can’t sit still. So I clean. I tidy. I polish. I hoover. I scrub relentlessly things that are already clean, and tidy things that were never messy.

Did I NEED to clean?

At 11pm, no, not really.

But honestly? Staying busy felt so much safer than staying still. My nervous system knew something was really wrong, but I wasn’t ready to face that yet. So instead, my poor little body kept me as safe as it possibly could. By being small, being quiet, and cleaning. If I just kept busy enough, maybe he would leave me alone.

Maybe you work.
Maybe you over-commit yourself.
Maybe you organise.

We all have ways of staying small and keeping quiet when we feel unsafe.

I’m just grateful that these days, I rarely feel the need to do housework.

Coming to a pole class isn’t just about learning a new technical dance skill - if you’ve been here for a minute, you’ll have heard me talk about this before.

The more I dive back into my experiences teaching pole over the last 17 years, the more I have come to realise that pole and coaching are SO similar.

Do women come to class thinking that technical pole tuition is what they came for? YES.
Do they leave realising that they are actually getting so much more? DOUBLE YES.

Pole teaches women a host of incredible skills outside of the physical bonus of more muscle, more strength and more mobility.
● Pole is never a linear journey, and that’s really difficult to come to terms with. You’ll show up at the studio one week and, for no apparent reason, you’ll be unable to do something you could do last week. Your arms will feel weak. You’ll feel unco-ordinated. Nothing works. BUT, you come back next week. And the week after. AND the week after. This is RESILIENCE.
● There will be lessons where you finally nail a move you’ve been working on forever, or finally flow with a piece of choreography, or show up in the hottest outfit you’ve ever worn. This is CONFIDENCE.
● Within 4 weeks, it’s likely that you will be lifting your entire body weight - IN YOUR OWN HANDS!!!!!!!!! That’s STRENGTH right there.

And the best best best best part for me?

Watching women accept less s**t in their lives as a result.

Less s**t from their husbands, partners, boyfriends.
Less s**t from their friends.
Less s**t from their job.

They start to tolerate less, and want more.

This is because gradually, every week, every class, the level of value these women see in themselves is growing. Their self trust is growing. Their SELF WORTH is growing.
AND I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER.

But the very best news of all, my friends? You don’t need to start a pole class to get this. Comment WORTHY and I’ll send you something to get you started. Magic. 🪄

I freaking love reality tv. I used to watch TONS of it, and I swear at one point, too many episodes of Ex on the Beach actually started to rot my brain - but I’ll talk about that another time.

But my absolute FAVOURITES are the makeover shows. Homes and cars, yeah sure, but people makeovers …. Top tier TV as far as I’m concerned. 10 Years Younger, What Not To Wear, Trinny and Susannah - even America’s Next Top Model - they had me glued for hours on end.

But not for the reason that you may think.

Because almost every single time … almost without fail I’d say …

I preferred her before.

I said it. I stand by it. Let me explain.

We all know that the beauty industry has women in a chokehold;

Wear this
Pluck that
Shave this
Squeeze into that
Don’t be too fat
Don’t be too thin
Don’t have too many muscles
Don’t show too much skin
You can’t wear that at your age
And my personal favourite …
Who do you think you are?

It’s an industry that has spent literal decades convincing us that women’s natural state needs correcting in some way; that we should all look like pretty, palatable mannequins.
Now, I don’t usually have a single complaint about Q***r Eye, it’s one of my favourite shows (thanks Ri!), but one episode in particular comes to mind. It was a lady in her 60s who had taught line dancing for ever, and still had long blonde extensions, huge eyelashes, and would NOT be removed from her daisy dukes and her cowboy boots.

I was instantly besotted with her.
She was ‘my kind of woman’.

So naturally, I was super excited to see her transformation. Until I saw it.

Now don’t get me wrong, I understand that TV are always kinda going for the shock factor. But for me, the shock is that after a lot of these makeovers, the women just look …. Sterile.

Boring.
Plain.
Average.

It feels like all their history, all their stories, all their COLOUR, has been dialled down.

And too many women spend too much time being dialled down for other people’s comfort, and I’m not here for it.

So if you're a woman who feels like she's been dialled down a bit - good news! I'm working on something specifically for you. Watch this space. It's going to be good.

Resting without feeling guilty.

If someone could give me the magic formula for that, I'll take it right now please and thank you.

Because friends, even so many years of self development deep, I still struggle with this one. It's a work in progress but I often feel like I'm not making much progress!

If you grew up in a house where resting was for other people, or you maybe didn't sit down until all the chores were done, then this one is for you.

Maybe it's time to do things differently.

Ooooooh SOMETHING IS COMING!!

And I think you're going to love it.

If you've been engaging in the recent content, and feel like YOUR self worth is in the 🚽, I got you!!! The something that is coming is for you. Created with you in mind. Created for growth. Created so more brilliant women can feel better about themselves.

I'm excited.

Love you!

It can take so much courage to put yourself out there, in any context, and when you’re met with less than Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader energy … it can be REALLY hard to recover.

If you’re ready for things to be different;
If you’re ready to feel confident again;
If you’re ready to remember who the f**k you are …..

….girl, you’re in the right place. 💓💓💓

Here's why knowing better doesn't always mean doing better.

Because this isn’t just something you learned from your Mum, or your Auntie, or your caregiver.

The role of ‘doing’ was given to you centuries ago. It was tied to your very soul before you were even imagined.

It’s what society has been very silently reminding us is our place in the world. In the words of Billie Eilish - ‘What was I made for?’.

Work. The answer is work.

If you’re ready to start unlearning that work/value connection, I’m ready too. I’m in if you are.

Love youuuuuuu!!!!!
