Are you due from September? Have you started thinking about antenatal classes yet? It may seem too early, but good courses get booked up quickly!
So, why attend antenatal classes?
💚 to meet other couples due at a similar time to you. The support you'll get from your group once your babies are all here is beyond price - having a group of local friends who you have had a chance to get to know over a period of several weeks during pregnancy to share experiences with and pick the brains of in the early overwhelming and exhausting weeks of new parenthood is a brilliant way to start.
🧡 knowledge is power! Going into birth feeling well informed about what might happen, what choices you might face, what might cause things to go off course and what you can do about it if they do, what your rights are, can all help you to feel more confident on the day
💜 enabling your birth partner to feel well prepared. Being a birth partner isn't always easy, as they can feel a bit helpless in how they can best support you. Understanding the process and their role in it can go a long way in boosting their confidence
💚 knowing what you can do in advance (as well as on the day) to give you the best chance of everything going as smoothly as possible. When you know what can both help and hinder the birth process, you feel more in control
🧡 learning techniques to help the birth process work as it is designed to - whether that be breathing for labour, positions for mum and baby to aid the baby's journey through the pelvis, relaxation methods, massage strokes, or more
Our next antenatal courses start in Witney on 8th July and 6th August, for Sept-Dec babies. What are you waiting for?!
