New term, new routineโ€ฆ and maybe a few nerves too? ๐ŸŽ’

Starting somewhere new, or even just moving into a new school or college year, can bring a strange mix of excitement and anxiety.

New classes, different teachers, unfamiliar faces, more responsibility and changing friendships can take a bit of getting used to. Youโ€™re not expected to have it all figured out on day one.

A few things can make the transition feel easier: talk about whatโ€™s worrying you, get organised where you can, give yourself time to settle in and remember that asking for help isnโ€™t a sign that you canโ€™t cope.

And try not to compare your first few days with someone elseโ€™s. Some people settle quickly. Others need a few weeks. Both are completely okay. ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ‘‰ Swipe for a few tips to help you find your feet this September.

How full is your cup right now? โ˜•๐Ÿ’™

Between college, uni, work, relationships, family, money, social media and trying to work out what youโ€™re actually doing with your life, it can sometimes feel like everyone wants a little piece of you.

But you canโ€™t keep giving when your own cup is running empty.

Filling it doesnโ€™t have to mean a perfect morning routine or having everything figured out. Sometimes itโ€™s taking a break without feeling guilty. Saying no when youโ€™re overwhelmed. Talking about how youโ€™re actually feeling. Asking for help. Or simply doing something that gives your brain a bit of space.

๐Ÿ’™ Looking after your mental health isnโ€™t selfish. Itโ€™s part of looking after yourself.

Back to school blues? ๐Ÿ’™

Getting back into the school routine after the summer break can feel like a lot. New classes, changing friendships, early mornings, homework and expectations can all take a little time to adjust to.

If youโ€™re feeling anxious, overwhelmed or simply not quite ready to be back, give yourself some time. You donโ€™t have to have everything figured out straight away.

Take things one day at a time, look after the basics and talk to someone you trust if things are feeling difficult. ๐Ÿ’™

And remember, asking for support is always okay.

๐ŸŽ‰ **Congratulations to everyone receiving their GCSE results today!**

Whatever is written on that piece of paper, remember that your grades don't define you or everything you're capable of.

If you got the results you hoped for, celebrate them! ๐Ÿฅณ And if things haven't gone quite to plan, there are still so many routes forward.

What you watch shapes what you see. ๐Ÿ’™

Recent headlines have put self-harm back in the spotlight, but one thing isn't talked about enough: social media algorithms.

If a young person searches for, watches or engages with self-harm content, their feed can quickly become filled with more of the same. What starts as curiosity or looking for someone who understands can unintentionally reinforce difficult thoughts and feelings.

If certain posts, videos or accounts leave you feeling worse, remember: you can take back control. Mute, unfollow, block or report content that isn't supporting your wellbeing, and seek out accounts that promote hope, recovery and positive mental health instead.

If you, or someone you know, is struggling with self-harm, our new guide When Hurting Feels Like Helping offers compassionate, practical advice to help young people, parents and carers better understand self-harm and find safer ways to cope.
