Toucans by our 5-8 yr olds in lower earley last night. We've been learning about these fantastic creatures and their habitats, whilst experimenting with pastels and paints.
We hope you had a great half term! We look forward to seeing all our Artsters at our art classes and after school clubs this week.

We still have a couple of places in our Lower Earley classes... 5 - 8 years olds and 8- 12 year olds. Drop me a line to arrange a trial, or visit www.artyclass.co.uk

A huge thank you to all the children who entered our art competition!

We really enjoyed seeing you all at the Forbury Fiesta and seeing all the wonderful creations.

Congratulations to our winners and runners-up, they have been chosen for their creativity, effort and skill, bearing in mind their age and ability to complete independently. Amazing work given that most of these are only 5 or 6 years old!

All winners have been contacted with details on how to claim their prize. However, a few email addresses were unclear, so if you recognise your child or their artwork here and haven't received an email, please get in touch. We'd also appreciate any shares or tags to help us reach everyone!

Thank you again to every child who entered (or just came along and had a go) - we loved seeing your fantastic creations!

Join us this Saturday, 9 May, for Forbury Fiesta - a day packed with activities for all ages. There will be so much to do for kids of all ages - stage performances, workshops, sports taster sessions, and, of course, arts activities throughout the day!

🎨 Get creative with Jelly's friendly artists and make your very own colourful bookmark using pens, collage, and stamps — perfect to take home and use in your favourite book. Don’t forget to look up and spot the fantastic Bookmark Bunting decorating the marquee, lovingly created by Year 4 and 5 pupils from Civitas Primary.

🎨 Take part in imaginative workshops by Arty class inspired by beloved storybook characters — create a patchwork elephant or bring Quentin Blake-style characters to life.

🎨 Join University of Reading and help create a colourful display by designing and decorating flag bunting, which will be proudly showcased at the University of Reading Centenary Community Festival on Saturday 16 May. Your artwork will become part of something special!

🎨 Bring your favourite storybook characters to life on your own clothing! Simply bring an old t-shirt or tote bag and upcycle it using fabric paints, stencils and simple prompts inspired by
reading and storytelling. These workshops led by Anurita Chandola take place in the art marquee from 12pm-1pm and 2pm-3pm - don't miss out!

For more activities on the day please check out the brochure at the link in the comments ⬇️

Roald Dahl is the major inspiration behind fun-loving children's author, David Walliams

Elmer is the cheerful patchwork elephant who teaches children that being different is something to celebrate.

It's the national year of Reading!

We are celebrating this Saturday at Forbury Gardens, 11-4pm at the launch event of the Reading Children's festival - a free family event open to all!

Join us where we will be running a wonderfully creative children's art competition filled with colour, imagination and quirky characters!

Children aged 5-8 are invited to design their very own Elmer the elephant master piece!

Whilst ages 8-12 can dream up an original character inspired by the magical and mischievous world of Roald Dahl.

Expect plenty of fun, creativity and fantastical ideas - plus winners will receive a free sketchbook 10% off when booking onto future Arty classes!

Please like, share, follow - each one helps us as a small, local business.
