Our Art classes are about sharing a love of art - for children aged 5 to 16 across Reading, Earley and Wokingham, UK who want to develop their drawing and painting skills. Arty Class is a dedicated school of drawing and painting based in Reading and Wokingham, Berkshire. We offer structured, child-centred, art classes for children aged 5-15, nurturing each child ​to bring out their artistic potential.

We have been delighted to hear that one of our Artspires has had their work selected for the Royal Academy's Young Artist competition 🎨👩‍🎨🖌️🥳

Ellianna from our Reading Art School, created a striking and beautiful horse piece with charcoal that she submitted. Ellianna says:

"I’m very excited to be part of this exhibition and thank you for getting me more interested in art".

Ellianna's piece will be displayed on the Royal Academy's website from 14th July in the 2026 online exhibition, which you can find here ( https://youngartists.royalacademy.org.uk/ ).

Congratulations to Ellianna, we are so excited for you - it's a great experience to go through and a fantastic achievement to be selected.

We're very proud of Ellianna and of all our students who submitted an art piece.

Lovely to see this local art exhibition yesterday on my day off, just a few minutes away from our venue in Lower Earley!

Such a diverse range of art mediums and styles, some extremely thought provoking and engaging pieces.

Here are a couple of my favourites, though I didn't take too many photos as I didn't want to act like the paparazzi!

It's the Reading University undergraduate degree show by the School of Art Reading School of Art - University of Reading and it's the final exhibition day today, 11-6pm at the Whiteknights campus, opposite Leighton park school. It's free to attend and it's also got free parking!

Inspiring and thought-provoking for a teen Artspire if you are around and looking for something nice to do in the sun! And why not combine it with the Wokingham En Plein Air day (see my other post!)?

For our Artspires this afternoon you may spot some of these artists on your way into art class at our venue- St Paul's Parish rooms in Wokingham,do have a little look!

Toucans by our 5-8 yr olds in lower earley last night. We've been learning about these fantastic creatures and their habitats, whilst experimenting with pastels and paints.
We hope you had a great half term! We look forward to seeing all our Artsters at our art classes and after school clubs this week.

A huge thank you to all the children who entered our art competition!

We really enjoyed seeing you all at the Forbury Fiesta and seeing all the wonderful creations.

Congratulations to our winners and runners-up, they have been chosen for their creativity, effort and skill, bearing in mind their age and ability to complete independently. Amazing work given that most of these are only 5 or 6 years old!

All winners have been contacted with details on how to claim their prize. However, a few email addresses were unclear, so if you recognise your child or their artwork here and haven't received an email, please get in touch. We'd also appreciate any shares or tags to help us reach everyone!

Thank you again to every child who entered (or just came along and had a go) - we loved seeing your fantastic creations!
