Yasmeen Bibi Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist

Yasmeen Bibi Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist Psychotherapist for Individuals and Couples | UKCP Registered | I provide compassionate support for healing and lasting change. Thank you for visiting my page.

Personal tragedy and peoples ability to overcome their ordeals have always moved me to do what I do. I interact with these super beings who are facing their existential limitations and crises in everyday life. I get to speak to them, listen to them and sit with them when they are breaking and making. When they are in shambles surrounded by their emotional chaos and utter disappointments and traged

ies. Yet their will to go on and work through it, making sense of it, creating a narrative for themselves, finding meaning for them to be here facing and living this life. It's such a humbling and awe-inspiring experience for me as a therapist and to be allowed to be part of their personal journey. As I strive to seek the meaning of life, I'm passionate about using psychotherapy as a therapeutic way to connect with individuals and couples to enhance their understanding about themselves, to improve the quality of their lives and relationships. I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space to my clients where they can unpack their chaos and find a narrative for themselves that can give them meaning to their experiences, help them get in touch with their grief, guilt, shame, that allows finding peace, harmony and self-acceptance. Most common feedback I get from my clients is that they have experienced a feeling of getting unstuck, authenticity and improved quality of life. As well as a positive shift in mindset, physical health, mental well being leaving them with a sense of empowerment. I have given counselling to a diverse set of clients with distinct needs and abilities over thousands of hours over nearly a decade. Many of these individuals have been referred by Healthy Minds, Well-being centres and Haven Wolverhampton, through a network of social workers, GP’s and referrals from satisfied clients. I am a Senior Psychotherapist with experience in using different modalities like Psychotherapeutic, Humanistic and Existentialist. My Relationship Training and experience is in Systemic and Transactional analysis. While I provide clinical supervision to counsellors and students, you will find me regularly facilitating workshops and mentoring groups. If you would like to learn more about my services, let's have a call or drop me an email.

Healthy relationships are not about keeping score, but they do require reciprocity. Love grows when both people feel valued, appreciated and cared for. If you’re asking for everything, are you offering the same in return?

Many people believe therapists are responsible for “saving” competent adults from abusive relationships. In UK private practice, that’s not how therapy works. A therapist’s role is to help you recognise abuse, understand your options, assess risk, safety plan where appropriate, and support your autonomy. Except in specific safeguarding or legal circumstances, capable adults have the right to make their own decisions, even when those decisions are difficult.

The way we relate to other people isn’t random. It’s often shaped by our early experiences, relationships, and the beliefs we’ve developed about ourselves and others.

The good news? These patterns aren’t permanent. With self awareness and therapy, we can learn healthier ways of relating, build stronger relationships, and move towards a place of mutual respect and emotional security.

If someone enters adulthood still carrying an unhealed “princess complex,” sometimes what they’re really seeking is re parenting, constant validation, emotional rescuing, or unconditional worship. And that creates imbalance.

Healthy love is reciprocal.

You want to be cherished? Beautiful.
But your partner also wants to feel respected, valued, emotionally safe, admired.

Attachment theory teaches us that insecure attachment can make people expect a partner to fill emotional wounds created in childhood. But relationships work better when two adults choose each other, not when one person becomes the parent and the other becomes the child.

Treat your partner like royalty too.
Not because you owe submission, but because mutual appreciation creates emotional security.

A healthy relationship is not “serve me.”
It is: “Let’s protect each other’s peace.”

Anger isn’t something to fear or suppress. It’s an important emotion that can signal injustice, threat, or violated boundaries. Sometimes it’s the appropriate response. Other times, it may be protecting deeper feelings such as hurt, fear, grief, or shame. The key isn’t getting rid of anger, it’s understanding it and expressing it in healthy ways.

The most damaging manipulation often sounds ordinary. It’s not always shouting or insults. Sometimes it’s repeated phrases that make you question yourself. Pay attention to patterns, not excuses.

Football doesn’t cause domestic abuse. It can expose it. A match result is never an excuse for violence. The responsibility always lies with the abuser.

Some children don’t lose their childhood through neglect. They lose it by becoming their parent’s emotional caretaker.
