Today marks 14 years since we lost my beautiful mom to cancer. Not a day goes by that we don’t miss her, love her, and think about the incredible woman she was.
Watching someone you love slowly deteriorate is heartbreaking. As a family, we were completely broken, but we found comfort knowing she was finally free from pain and at peace.
One moment from that time has stayed with me forever. As my mom lay in her bed, the hospice staff gently asked, “Who is your funeral director?” Even though we knew this day would eventually come, it was something we had never truly prepared for. We had no funeral plans in place and no savings set aside for a funeral.
So I made the decision to arrange and carry out my mom’s funeral myself.
It was emotional, stressful, and confusing at times, but I was determined to give my mom the dignified farewell she deserved without placing financial pressure on my family. That experience opened my eyes to how difficult and overwhelming funerals can be for grieving families.
From that experience, Sincerity Funerals was born.
Everything we do today is because of her. Every family we help is treated with the compassion, care, and understanding that we needed during one of the hardest times in our lives.
Mom, thank you for inspiring this journey. We love you endlessly, we miss you every single day, and your memory lives on in everything we do. ❤️
