35 degrees C? Your sunscreen routine needs to work a little harder.

When temperatures soar, SPF shouldn’t stop at your cheeks.

Don’t forget to protect your:
• Scalp (especially if you have a parting or thinning hair)
• Ears
• Hairline
• Neck
• Hands

If you’re sweating, swimming or towelling your face, reapply your sunscreen regularly. Even the best SPF needs topping up in hot weather.

A reminder for our pigmentation clients…

Please don’t leave your sunscreen permanently in a hot car. Prolonged exposure to high temperatures can affect the stability of many sunscreen formulations, meaning they may not perform as well when your skin needs them most.

If you keep an SPF in the car for emergencies, replace it regularly and store your main sunscreen somewhere cool.

Small habits make a big difference—especially when you’re trying to prevent hyperpigmentation or maintain the results of your treatments.

Protect today. Prevent tomorrow. 💛

Too hot to treat? Your skin might be telling us to wait.

Warm weather is wonderful, but it’s not always the best time for skin treatments.

Before your appointment, ask yourself:
Is your skin hot or flushed?
Skin that feels warm, red or inflamed is already under stress.
Have you had recent sun exposure?
Even without sunburn, UV exposure can make your skin more sensitive and increase the risk of unwanted reactions.
Is your skin stinging or unusually reactive?
If your usual skincare is suddenly burning or your skin feels irritated, your barrier may need time to recover.

Sometimes the safest and most effective treatment is simply giving your skin a little time to calm down.

Calm the skin first. Treat second.

If you’re unsure whether your skin is ready for treatment, just get in touch. We’d much rather assess your skin and reschedule if needed than compromise your results.

Warm weekends are lovely… but your skin doesn’t always agree.

When the weather heats up, your skin barrier has to work much harder. Heat, UV exposure, sweat and dehydration can all leave skin feeling more sensitive, flushed and reactive.

The best approach? Keep it simple.

Cleanse gently
Moisturise properly
Wear a broad-spectrum SPF every day
Resist the temptation to introduce strong acids or active ingredients if your skin is already irritated

Sometimes the healthiest thing you can do for your skin isn’t adding more products—it’s giving it the support it needs to recover.

Your skin will thank you for it. 💛

☀️ A little treatment-day reminder ☀️

For the safest and best possible results, please don’t arrive for your appointment:

❌ Sun-exposed
❌ Hot or overheated
❌ Flushed after exercise
❌ Recently tanned (natural or artificial)

Your skin needs to be calm before treatment. Heat, sun exposure and tanning can increase sensitivity and may affect how your skin responds.

If you’ve spent time in the sun, been exercising, gardening, sitting in a conservatory, or travelling in a hot car before your appointment, please let us know.

Healthy, calm skin = better treatment outcomes. 💛

Thank you for helping us keep your skin safe.

☀️ A little reminder for anyone struggling with pigmentation or hyperpigmentation…

The sunshine feels wonderful, but UV levels are currently very high, and even a small amount of daily sun exposure can make pigmentation appear darker and more difficult to treat.

If you are prone to melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone, or have invested in treatments to improve pigmentation, now is the time to be extra diligent with your sunscreen.

✔ SPF 50 every morning
✔ Reapply throughout the day if outdoors
✔ Don’t forget ears, neck, chest and hands
✔ Wear sunglasses and a hat where possible

Many people think pigmentation only worsens after sunbathing, but everyday exposure while driving, walking the dog, gardening, or sitting near windows can also contribute.

Protecting your skin now will help preserve the results of any treatments you’ve had and make future pigmentation treatments more effective.

Your future skin will thank you. ☀️
