Fun and Wellbeing Activities for All!

Launching next week is a unique community project that has been many months in the making. My dream of bringing people of all ages together to play, grow, learn, and heal is becoming a reality!

As we move into the new academic year, I aim to expand this humble beginning into "One Happy Hive – For All", an inclusive learning community welcoming young people outside of mainstream education alongside adults seeking growth and connection.

To make this dream a reality, we'll need helpers of all ages, so please spread the word if you know someone who might be interested.

Whether you're:

- curious about our long-term vision,
- looking for something fun to do alone or with the kids or grandkids,
- eager to try something new,

I invite you to join our taster sessions, all led by passionate volunteers excited to meet you, on Wednesday, 7th August, and Thursday, 8th August, at the Lyppard Hub.

πŸ‘‰ Call to Action: Reserve your spot and be part of this inspiring journey! Your participation and support will help shape a vibrant, inclusive community.

Meaningful Moments βœ¨πŸ’ž

When you wake up and find this slipped under your door by your nearly 16-year-old son after being away for 24 hours, the thought and feeling behind it bring tears to your eyes.

It reassures you that you must be doing something right...

It makes you want to give back.

One small gesture πŸ’, a smile, a kind word, a heartfelt compliment, can mean the world to someone else and make them realise that they matter, that they are valued, that they make a difference.

You don't need to be in a relationship to feel and give love. Give it to yourself and give it to someone you cross paths with today.

Make a difference in your life and someone else's. πŸ’–

What do you see when you look at me?
Fear the ugly, miss the beauty

I am so grateful for each client I work with, each friend I help, for the beauty that I find in each of them, for my ability to see and appreciate what is so special and unique about them.
I feel privileged each time a client, a friend allows me to inspire them and help them discover, accept, embrace and value their hidden beauty.

Why focus on your so-called shortcomings? Too many people fear looking deep inside because they are afraid to find ugliness.
If only they bravely looked deeper, the unique beauty they would find would blow them away.

I asked 2 clients recently what they saw in me that inspired them so and, even though I do not shy away from all that I am, I was still blown away by what I received - one of the most beautiful gifts ever, one so precious that I hesitated to share it.

Thank you for this truly awesome poem, may you see that only a truly beautiful and talented person could write this. πŸ’–
Thank you to all my amazing clients and friends for seeing the beauty in me.

Remember that it takes one to know one. You can only recognise and appreciate something that you know yourself deeply and intimately.

If you would like to find the hidden treasures πŸͺ™ inside you...

If you would like to embark on an adventure leading you to appreciate all of what you are...

Mentors - how to choose?

I have had a number of mentors over the last year as I started 2 different businesses and joined 3 academies. I have also mentored others who got stuck on their journey.

When choosing a mentor, it's important to find one who...

- keeps you accountable and challenges you in a way that works with and for you

- is available when you need them

- is as passionate as you are about getting you to your destination (and isn't just about the money)

- enjoys experiencing the journey with you

- celebrates your wins, encourages you when you're struggling

- has a sense of humour (preferably not too far from yours)

- speaks your language (and I mean who communicates, explains things in a way that resonates with you or can flex in their approach)

- is flexible and understanding of the fact that different people work in different ways

- gets you and helps you work out how to move forward on your journey in a way that is aligned with your vision, strengths and weaknesses

- sees what's special/unique about you and will you help you truly shine authentically

An amazing mentor will be there for you, playing the roles of the teacher who shares their knowledge and wisdom, the coach who guides you forward, the firm but fair parent who keeps you honest and accountable, the friend you can share laughter, tears, frustration, wins and struggles with.

The right mentor will take you to places you hadn't even thought you could go.

Thanking all my mentors and clients for teaching me what matters, the dos and don'ts, when helping, guiding and serving others.

Mental health awarenesses - enabler πŸ’« πŸ’‘βœ… or disabler β›”βœ–οΈπŸ†˜ ?

The article below will no doubt ruffle some feathers but I thought I'd share it because I encounter this daily when teaching.

I still remember the pupil in a French class during my teacher training 20 years ago who told me he couldn't possibly learn to spell a word because he had special needs. It shocked me at the time.

20 years on, most of the kids I teach have mental health issues and many definitely use it as an excuse or actually want to keep their mental health issue because it serves them one way or other or because they believe it is an intrinsic part of their identity.

Yet when you become aware of a challenge connected to your mental health or that of a loved one, you have the choice to use that knowledge as an empowerment tool, instead of a disabler or a write-off.

Awareness of our issues/challenges is definitely good but too much talking about and focus on mental health issues is also disabling so many people nowadays.

Whatever you focus on, you get more of...

So if I talk about "my" anxiety/depression/fatigue/bad memory/autism/ADHD etc constantly,

- I own it like a treasured possession πŸͺ™ that I am not letting go of any time soon

and

- I stop being able to see everything else, the other beautiful parts of me, as well as what the condition also allows me to do...

Food for thought πŸ’

Most mental health issues come about to serve/help us in one way or another but they often end up disabling us as well as protecting us.

So if you want to find ways to overcome the negative aspects of a mental health issue while maintaining its more empowering effects,

If you want to do something about it rather than talk about it,

Get in touch because the powerful combination of Rapid Transformation Therapy and specialist coaching will truly enable you to have the life you deserve πŸͺ„πŸŒŸ.

β€œMy bad mental health made me do it.”

If you are reviewing your 2022 goals πŸ₯…
and
crafting your 2023 vision πŸ’...

If you want to make sure that vision becomes REALITYπŸ«°βœˆοΈπŸ“ˆπŸ’–, here is a useful reminder of the 4 habits of successful people.

1. Do what you don't want to do FIRST πŸ₯‡and feel like a winner all day

2. Take at least one step πŸ‘£, no matter how small, in the direction of your goals every single day πŸ“†

3. Earn your reward πŸ†and enjoy it guilt-free - action THEN reward, small action, small reward, big action, big reward

4. Grow your praise muscle πŸ’ͺ - give yourself as much praise and encouragement along the way as you would give a small child or your best friend. The truth is you already are amazing and telling yourself will only make it more true.

Your mind needs exactly the same as a child - tons of consistent, clear, positive instructions, encouragement, praise and... Repetition πŸ˜„!

And if you are struggling with any of those or with setting your goals, reach out for help because you are not alone and it doesn't have to be a constant inner battle πŸ₯Š.

Life is meant to flow with ease. 🏞️

People who had COVID-19 are at higher risk for a host of brain injuries a year later compared with people who were never infected by the coronavirus, a finding that could affect millions of Americans, U.S. researchers reported on Thursday.
