BANK HOLIDAY CLOSURE NOTICE

Please be advised that Knightwick Surgery will be closed on Monday 31 August due to the Bank Holiday.

The surgery will reopen as normal on Tuesday 1 September at 8:00am.

If you need medical assistance whilst we are closed:

For life-threatening emergencies: 📞 Call 999 immediately.

We are currently carrying out building works at the surgery to create an additional clinical room.

This does mean there will be some noise and disruption during this time, however we will do our best to keep this to a minimum.

MENINGITIS B – PATIENT INFORMATION

You will be aware of the recent outbreak of Meningitis B in Kent. This has understandably caused concern and we have received several enquiries from our patients

The Meningitis B (MenB) vaccine has been part of the routine UK childhood immunisation schedule since 2015. This means most children born after 2015 will already have received it as part of their standard vaccinations. Those born before 2015 will not have received the vaccine routinely and are not currently eligible for it on the NHS. You can check your vaccination record through the NHS App.

For those who are not eligible for the vaccine on the NHS, it may be available privately through some pharmacies and travel clinics.

Meningitis B is an uncommon bacterial disease which can lead to a serious illness.

You should seek immediate medical attention if you or someone you know has any of the following symptoms:-
• A high fever with confusion
• Severe headache
• Neck stiffness
• A rash that does not fade when a glass is pressed against it (non blanching rash)
