🐴✨ TOP TIP TUESDAY - Listen to the Little Signs

Your horse doesn’t always tell you they’re uncomfortable in an obvious way.

Sometimes it’s the little things…

👀 A change in how they stand

🐎 Finding one rein harder than the other

🧘‍♀️ Less willing to stretch

🪮 Becoming sensitive during grooming

🔄 Struggling with transitions they normally find easy

💭 Just seeming a little “off”

As riders, we get to know our horses’ normal behaviour — so don’t ignore those subtle changes.

💡 Tip: If something feels different, make a note of it. Patterns can be incredibly useful when working with your vet, physio, farrier or bodyworker.

And remember, massage and bodywork are part of a wider approach to your horse’s health and comfort — not a replacement for veterinary assessment when something is wrong.

❤️ Your horse is always communicating. Are you listening?

"Um, excuse me. I know my treatment has finished but could I have another of those minty treats before you get in your car please?"

Of course I couldn't say no and Bam got 2 more treats before I left 🤣

Barney using his stable door to take the weight of his head during yesterday's treatment.

Barney has regular massages to keep him comfortable. He holds some tension around his head and face which causes his eyes and nostrils to become asymmetrical. Yesterday treatment included light craniosacral work to help address this.

Top Tip Tuesday 🐴✨

Did you know regular equine massage can help support your horse’s mobility, muscle health and overall comfort?

🐎 Massage can help:
• Relax tight, overworked muscles
• Support circulation
• Maintain flexibility and range of movement
• Promote relaxation and wellbeing
• Complement your horse’s existing training and care routine

Whether your horse is a hardworking athlete, a happy hacker or enjoying a quieter life, keeping those muscles feeling their best can make a real difference.

💜 Top tip: Don’t wait until your horse feels sore to think about muscle care — prevention and regular maintenance are key!

Douglas was enjoying a little black berry snack today....

Black berries provide healthy antioxidants, dietary fiber, and essential vitamins like C, K, and E, alongside minerals such as potassium and manganese.

Nutritional Benefits
Antioxidants: Rich in flavonoids and ellagic acid, which help fight cell damage from free radicals.

Vitamins and Minerals: Supply small boosts of vitamin C, vitamin K, vitamin E, potassium, and calcium.

Fiber: Support normal digestive function in small amounts.

Blackberry Leaves: The leaves (and vines) contain tannins that have a mild, natural astringent effect, which has traditionally been used to support gut health and soothe mild loose droppings.
