Today at parkside a resident enjoyed a trip out to the promenade. This was his choice. It's good to remember that not everyone has family, and it's great we can give them the opportunity like everyone else. We went along the pier, looked at the art work on the windows! The sea looked beautiful 😍
A personal choice was made by the resident where they would like coffee, so we went along on the seafront to coast.
They then chose to go back through the town centre. This was a big step for them, but coped so well, We did a visit to the shop to buy shower gels, and deodorant, again giving him the freedom of choice. We then went back to parkside just in time for a lovely lunch. These pictures show our enjoyable time.

After we had a discussion, as we have a new resident, and they were asking lots of relevant questions, this made them
feel at ease, and helps with the settling in process. This makes them feel more secure. After we all discussed our trip on Friday for lunch at our local pub, the brew house.

Today at parkside we finished our positivity board, it looks great, and takes place on the middle floor. We then got ready to all go outside
We did some different games, had our morning coffee and tea, and we then enjoyed the parachute. We had great fun. It was soon lunchtime which we enjoyed in the garden, we even had a seagull joining us
😂. I think he was hopeful, but all the residents emptied their plates! It was all that fresh air and exercise.

Today at parkside our family enjoyed picnic in the park! With table set up, our family all around the table. We had our activities of a quiz, well done everyone then we played old fashioned sayings game, they love this! It was beautiful in the park, we are so lucky to have wonderful green spaces around us. Members of the public stopped to talk to our residents, and let them stroke their dogs. They loved this very much. Everyone built up a good healthy appetite, and there was lots of yummy food to choose from.

Today at parkside a resident was accompanied to her hospital appointment. We had a great 1-1 chat waiting for hospital transport back! We have also made a start of our decorating the board on the 1st floor. It's just putting it together now. can't wait to see the end product. Everyone enjoyed the music this morning too, brought lots of memories with residents singing along.

At parkside lodge our lovely maintenance man James, and with some help from Biju our housekeeper, and even Sujith helped while here. The residents personally chose their own colours, which is good person centred care, and have had wraps on their room doors! They look 😍 fantastic. This is great to help them navigate to their rooms, and the bright colours making this easier, and attractive. This compliments the new wooden flooring laid throughout the home, and I know our family here have expressed their happiness 😊. A great job well done.

Today at parkside our plans changed, but that didn't stop us. We had a quiz, everyone joined in, but christa is hard to beat on the maths questions, and medical! Well done everyone. 👏 A group of our ladies who love arts and crafts did some beautiful stenciling for a project we are doing They look amazing 🤩 .
The residents also thanked Karen for going to the shops, and buying them all ice creams
They were delicious 😋.

Today at parkside our family continued to enjoy their 👣 foot spas, and hand massages. Some nails were painted too!
We decided to keep it low key today, and we had a little get together to discuss our upcoming outside events, to which our family are looking forward to very much.
This was an example of person centred care, asking them all what picnic foods they individually liked to have.
