Thank you so much to all of the members of Sally's Yoga Club - our July 2026 donation to Yoga Gives Back - Nonprofit Organization was an amazing $145 🙌 Swipe to see some of the ways that YGB uses donations to help and support women & girls in India through educational opportunities, microloans and scholarships for higher education. 💫
The Sally Parkes Yoga School community has been raising money for YGB since 2020, when it became crucial for us to stay connected via yoga online. Through donation based classes and workshops, and then, since 2023, we have been making donations from every single club membership payment for our on-demand yoga platform - Sally's Yoga Club. 💕
With this latest donation, our running total of donations is now $4155! This is just so amazing and I thank every member of my community who has helped us reach this awesome amount! 👏 Truly in action 🙏

60 seconds. 3 moves to do do when you are next waiting forcthe kettle to boil....you don't even need to use handweights/dumbells, you can grab some food tins, or milk cartons, whatever you have to hand. Small bite-size movements, multiple times a day really add up. So if your time is being squeezed, and you are wondering where you will get the time to workout, drop some into your day, and see the gains add up.

It can be tough getting your done in the summer holidays when you have children to entertain. This throwback from the vaults, comes from our local playground which i filmed while the kiddies were playing (when half an hour in the park used to entertain my now tweenies). 🙈 There are so many exercise options when you look in these kind of places. What do you do at the park, run, sun salutes, planks? Oh and I have heard some people also relax at parks too 🤣

Love 'em or hate 'em, getting to grips with statistics is crucial for really understanding scientific research, and making sure that you are untangling the facts from sometimes some very baffling studies and research papers. 🤯 It is really important for me to ensure that my are based in science fact not science fiction, and give all of my students the most up to date knowledge that's out there. So if you are looking for some or that is backed by rigorous anatomical research, check out our upcoming trainings! See b.i.o for details xx

Who wants a lovely Mellow Hatha Yoga Flow to start the weekend?
As you may know, the sympathetic nervous system is often referred to as our "fight or flight" response. It prepares the body for action by increasing heart rate, raising blood pressure, sharpening focus and directing energy towards the muscles. Whilst this response is vital for us to get things done, or respond to stresses or perceived danger, many of us spend far too much time in this heightened state. The parasympathetic nervous system however, often described as the "rest and digest" response, helps bring the body back into a state of calm. It slows the heart rate, encourages deeper breathing, supports digestion, aids recovery and creates the ideal environment for healing and repair.

So how can yoga help us access our calm zone?

Yoga and pranayama are powerful tools to regulate our nervous system and bring us back to a state of rest and recovery. When we engage the parasympathetic nervous system through slow, conscious breath and movement, we activate our body’s healing mode.
While last weeks Sally's Yoga Club release, our Yoga & Strength-work session, was aimed to create muscle and energise and move us into a state of action, this week's class, our Relaxing Hatha Yoga Class is a gentle floor based flow that nourishes the whole body, and is the perfect counter class for creating calm.
If you want to practice this class, along with over 200 more on-demand yoga, Pilates & movement classes, and help at the same time – go and see what Sally’s Yoga Club is all about.

Hope you get to enjoy some calm this week xx

This photo brings back so many special memories of equal parts exhaustion and love 💕 Breastfeeding was a huge part of my own journey into motherhood, and I'm so grateful to have experienced it.🤱 Like so many parts of parenting though, it wasn't always easy, and it's something I know looks very different for every family. 🥰 This it's worth recognising just how valuable breastfeeding can be. Although World Health Organization recommends exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months where possible, globally its around 48% of babies that are exclusively breastfed to six months*. There are many reasons for this (such as physical challenges; medical circumstances; personal choice or lack of support), but one thing I've learnt over the years, both as a mum and through working with thousands of women during pregnancy and beyond, is that there is no place for judgement. 💫 Whether you , , express, combination feed or use formula, what matters most is that your baby is fed, loved and thriving, and that you feel supported in the choices that are right for your family. So let's celebrate breastfeeding this week, whilst also recognising and supporting every parent who is doing their very best. 🙌 💕 🙌
