We like to keep our residents busy at Melrose.

And when the heat becomes over whelming there is nothing better than to enjoy an ice lolly and even better when home made.

Made with Strawberries and cream, pineapple and coconut, gin and tonic. A win for all the residents.

A cool lolly also kept our fluids up!

We wonder if you know what we should be celebrating today?

It’s National Cherry Day.

So many of our residents enjoyed the opportunity to try Amaretto cherry sours and chocolate dipped cherries to mark our celebration’s for national cherry day.

Everyone was happy. No complaints at all in fact most said let’s do it again and not wait a whole year to do so!

Our residents at Melrose love being part of the community we live in and we are always thrilled to have students come for a placement.

So today we took the opportunity today to enjoy an art session in the garden.

Lois who is our student on Work Experience gave us some top tips.

We were all pretty pleased with the results which I’m sure you will agree with.
