Our osteopathy team provide treatments 6 days and 5 evenings a week. We have a fantastic skill set within our therapists and each provides tailor made treatments to suit all ages. We have 3 dedicated paediatric osteopaths too, treating babies and children from just a few days old.

At Broadwater Osteopaths, Worthing we are seeing an increasing number of young babies within the practice.

Some parents will bring in their baby due to their own concerns, others may have been advised to visit by their GP or primary care team.

Osteopathy for babies is safe for all ages and very gentle. At BOP we have 3 osteopaths, amongst our team of 8, who treat our youngest patients.

Broadwater Osteopathic Practice is encouraging patients across Worthing and West Sussex to take a closer look at their health insurance policies before putting off treatment. For many, cover for osteopathy, acupuncture, massage or chiropody may already be in place.

It is a conversation the practice has regularly. Patients have been getting by with a back problem, a persistent neck ache or a sports injury for longer than they needed to, often because they assumed treatment was something they would have to fund entirely themselves. In a number of cases, a quick check of their policy told a different story.

Someone has been putting off coming in for months and then it turns out their workplace health scheme or insurance policy included cover for exactly the kind of treatment they needed. More Policies Include Allied Health Treatment Than Most People Realise

Private healthcare cover is often associated in people's minds with hospital stays and specialist consultants. In practice many workplace schemes and private medical insurance policies include a broader range of treatments, and osteopathy, acupuncture, massage, chiropody and podiatry are commonly among them.

Patients at the practice hold policies across the full range of providers, from cash plan schemes such as Simply Health, Health Shield, Medicash, WPA and Benenden through to some of the largest private medical insurers in the UK. Cover varies between providers and between individual plans, but the consistent finding is that patients are frequently surprised by what their policy turns out to include. Whatever provider you are with, it is worth a look.

Osteopathy is a statutorily regulated profession in the UK. All practising osteopaths must be registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC), which is the primary registration requirement most insurers look for when a patient makes a claim. For many policies this means patients have more flexibility in choosing where they are treated than they might expect.

All osteopaths at Broadwater Osteopathic Practice hold full GOsC registration. The clinic issues receipts for all treatments, which patients can use to support a reimbursement claim where their policy allows. Our acupuncture team are BACc registered and our Chiropodist is with HCPC.
