Sometimes the most unexpected thing can trigger your grief. When grief comes up unexpectedly as a result of a sensory experience, it can feel shocking or overwhelming.
Grief can appear out of nowhere as a waft of perfume on a passerby, an old number saved in your phone, a familiar tilt of someone's head, or a song played in a waiting room.
It's ok to lean into your grief when this happens.
Let yourself remember whatever comes up, and try to accept that this is a normal part of grieving.
