A client said to me today as she booked in for her first session…

“I’ve read hundreds of self-help books Cat, and I’m throwing them all out and just keeping yours.

It’s brilliant, this is the one. My “issues” and patterns finally make sense and I know I can finally be free from them, I can’t thank you enough.”

Have you got your copy of The Stallion Mind yet?

What is the Stallion Mind? And why should you care?

Fear shows up in many ways in our lives.

Anxiety. Self-sabotage. An Inner Critic. Imposter Syndrome. Destructive relationship patterns…

This is all the stallion mind.

Just like a stallion, our subconscious mind is powerful, highly alert, and wired to protect itself.

It doesn’t ever want to feel helpless.

And so it “protects” through fear.

But in doing so it keeps us stuck; rearing up in anxiety, bolting in panic, or digging its heels in…

A horse is always stronger than its rider - just like your subconscious mind is always stronger than your conscious one… until…

YOU take the reins.

🏇The Stallion Mind book leads you through the “BREAK Free Process” - 5 steps to understanding your subconscious and finally taking control.

You CAN lead your own incredible stallion-like mind, just like a horse rider leads a powerful stallion - rather than the other way around.

You CAN find out what you are truly capable of.

This book is light but deep; entertaining but enlightening; and easy to read but life-changing.

Check out the dozens of 5* reviews for yourself.

Happy Reading! (link in the comments)

Are you close to someone with oppositional defiance disorder?

What if Oppositional Defiance Disorder wasn’t about being naughty, but instead about being misunderstood? Cat Williams, The Stallion Mind speaker, takes a difference perspective on how to help children with behaviour disorders.

I wish more people were honest and said this more.

This makes me think of the scene in Friends when Phoebe says “Oh… I would… but I don’t want to!”

It also makes me think of bullying, abusive and controlling people who, due to not being able to handle shame or criticism, come up with elongated or non-sensical reasons and justifications for their behaviours.

When really the truth is they don’t want to give their time or energy to something they don’t want to do.

Which is fine.

But the bizarre justifications, lying, gaslighting or manipulation isn’t.

People show you who they are by what they do or do not do.

By what they give their time and energy to.

If they wanted to, they would.

It’s that simple.

A man lived in a town that was hit by severe flooding. As the water began to rise, his neighbours urged him to leave.

“No,” he replied. “I have faith. God will save me.”

Soon, the water reached the ground floor of his house, and a rescue boat came by.

“Jump in!” they shouted. “We’ll get you to safety.”

The man waved them away. “No thank you. God will save me.”

The floodwaters continued to rise, forcing him onto the roof. A helicopter appeared overhead.

The rescue team lowered a rope and called, “Grab hold! This is your last chance!”

Again, he refused. “No. I trust God. He will save me.”

Eventually, the floodwaters overwhelmed him, and he drowned.

When he arrived in heaven, he asked God, “Lord, I had complete faith in You. Why didn’t You save me?”

God replied,

“I sent you your neighbours, a rescue boat, and a helicopter. What more were you waiting for?”

❓Why am I sharing this story?

Well.

I had a client this week who was feeling guilty about asking for and receiving help.

She had felt like a burden to those around all her life, since being an unwanted baby.

She wanted to stand on her own two feet more, to feel worthy of love and happiness and build the life she wanted to live.

But she didn’t want to accept the “loaded” offers of help that were the only ones available.

As I shared this story as part of our session, and coupled with the work we’d done on releasing her core wounds and fears, she realised:

🌟She was free, able and worthy of accepting the help around her

🌟She was not and had never been a burden

🌟She was worthy of safety, love, and being cared for without needing to be constantly “grateful” to those who should have given those things freely.

🌟Accepting the helping hand didn’t mean she would be reliant on others forever, she could simply use it to build from.

❓What gifts or opportunities for support might be right under your nose that you are dismissing or not noticing, and why is that?

I know what you're thinking, but hear me out, this isn't what it looks like!

I wasn't going to "work" on holiday....I promise I was resolutely NOT going to read or send emails, or "catch up"on anything.

But (and this isn't a lie!) I finished my first charity-shop paperback, started on the second one... and realised I'd already read it on kindle!! Picked up the 3rd one... same thing! 😅 🤣 🤣

Obviously I am TERRIBLE at recognising the blurb of books BUT apart from that, I turned to my useful habit that I've developed over the years and I ASSUMED that this was a good thing, and happening for a reason...

I decided it was a sign that resolutely "trying not to work" (and honestly finding that hard!) wasn't really working for me - because my work isn't work any way, its what I love and what I live for!!

So now, I am SO happy, planning for the next Professional Speaking Association North West meeting, tying up loose ends, sending emails, even doing my monthly accounts - and I am honestly so happy to be "working" on holiday (with a glass of wine, a sea-breeze and a view of a pool at night, obvs)

When you love your "job" so much that no part of it actually feels like work, it's fine to do what you want, and do it on holiday, right?! (and to clarify, no, hubby isn't with me, I'm on my own "chaperoning" my daughter and her friends and having some "solo-holiday" time at the same time!)

What do you do on holiday that others probably wouldn't understand, but that brings you joy?!

And if you would like to join us at the next Professional Speaking Association meeting on July 15th in Warrington then it is one not to be missed, I have the honour of being the current President and you are guaranteed a warm welcome, I promise - I will put the link in the comments!
