On a number of days throughout the year the Practice is closed for mandatory staff training and development.
We will be closed for Protected Learning Time on Wednesday 13th May from 1pm and no doctors, dispensing or administrative staff will be available.
While the surgery is closed please call 111 if you are unable to wait until we reopen at 8am on Thursday 14th May.

Unfortunately, we currently have no phones or access to any computers. This has been reported to our IT provider and they are working to resolve the issues. This is a system wide issue and not just affecting Wye Surgery. Please accept our apologies.

Unfortunately, Wye Surgery is experiencing IT issues, again. These are system wide issues affecting Kent and Medway practices. Our online consultations have been switched off for the day. This is to ensure we are able to operate safely as submitted eConsults may not be received by the surgery.
Please be aware that there may be significant delays today. We are working as hard as we can to limit any disruption. We are as frustrated with the recent IT issues as you and can only apologise for the inconvenience that this causes. The ICB are working with our IT providers to resolve the issues.

Patient notice - Easter Bank Holidays

Wye Surgery will be closed over the Easter Bank Holidays. Please ensure that you have requested any medication in good time before the Bank Holidays, please allow three working days for collection.

Easter opening hours for community pharmacies can be found on the nhs.uk website.

Patient Notice - prescription exemptions

With effect from 1st April 2026, Income Support (box H) and Income Based Job Seekers Allowance (box K), will no longer be a valid reason for the Prescription Exemption Charge.

Please be aware that, if you usually select these exemptions, you will be required to pay for your prescriptions from 1st April 2026.

You may still be eligible for free prescriptions if you meet the Universal Credit criteria or qualify under another exemption category. Please note that Universal Credit does not automatically entitle you to free prescriptions and you would need to meet specific criteria. Further information can be found on the NHSBA eligibility checker.

Meningitis update
The UKHSA has launched a telephone line for people with queries about the meningitis outbreak. This is a helpline for those that do not have any symptoms. Anyone that has symptoms should continue to attend A&E or call 999.
The helpline will be available between the hours of 9am and 5pm.
