The Birth Preparation Company Midwife-led Antenatal courses, Caesarean courses and IBCLC lactation services in Wymondham, Norfolk

15/06/2026

Another one of my lovely Wymondham groups finished their antenatal course last week 🤍

All of my courses have one thing in common – by the end of each one, I see complete strangers become a little community of expectant parents who feel calmer, more informed and much more prepared for what's ahead.

Tonight, I welcomed my final group before I take a little break over the summer. Over the next few weeks we'll be exploring labour and birth, birth preferences, pain relief options, hypnobirthing relaxation, infant first aid, breastfeeding, bottle feeding, practical baby care and much more – all with the aim of helping these lovely parents-to-be feel calm, informed and prepared for what's ahead 🤍

After that I'll be back in September (and the September course is already starting to fill up, so this is your sign to book) if you're expecting a baby in November or December!

Thank you to every family who has trusted me to be part of such a special chapter in their lives 🤍

✨ ANTENATAL COURSES IN WYMONDHAM ✨

Now booking for September 🤍

5-star rated antenatal courses designed to help you feel calm, informed and prepared for birth, feeding your baby and life with a newborn. Led by local midwife, Andrea.

✔️ Midwife-led
✔️ Unbiased
✔️ Evidence-based
✔️ Practical, supportive and non-judgemental
✔️ Meet other local expectant parents
✔️ Includes infant first aid and hypnobirthing relaxation

When you book onto one of my antenatal courses, you won't be attending a nationally produced, generic course taught by different educators in different locations.

You'll be learning from one local midwife with first-hand knowledge of the local maternity system, who has personally created the course, teaches every session herself and supports local families every day through her NHS and private work. She'll help you understand what to expect, navigate your options, and feel confident making decisions that are right for your family.

The result? Consistent advice, local knowledge and a much more personal experience.

Both families came to us because feeding wasn't going as smoothly as they had hoped. Both babies were showing signs of tension. Both families needed support from more than one professional.

In one appointment, we were able to assess feeding, positioning and attachment, while also looking at how tension might be affecting feeding and comfort.

For one family, the difference was immediate.
After making some adjustments to positioning and attachment and releasing some tension, feeding became comfortable for mum on one side straight away. On the other side, baby initially became unsettled, repeatedly pulling away from the breast despite achieving a good latch. After further treatment from Chloe, baby returned to the breast and fed calmly and comfortably.

It was incredible to watch.

For the second family, we didn't achieve a feed during the appointment, but we were able to identify significant tension that appeared to be affecting baby's ability to latch and feed comfortably. Together, we developed a plan to support the family moving forward.

Not every family will leave with an instant transformation.

But what yesterday reinforced for us is that feeding challenges are rarely caused by just one thing.

Sometimes it's positioning and attachment.
Sometimes it's tongue tie.
Sometimes it's tension.
And sometimes it's a combination of all of these.

By working together in the same room, we can assess the bigger picture and help families access timely, joined-up support without waiting weeks between appointments.
We're so excited to see where this journey takes us and feel incredibly grateful to the families who trusted us with their care on our very first clinic day.

We're currently offering a limited number of joint clinic appointments each week alongside our existing clinics and NHS commitments, and we're so grateful that the first two clinic days have already been fully booked.🤍

You can read more or book via either of our websites.

Many partners quietly worry they won’t know how to help during labour.

They imagine they’ll need to “manage” things — or fix problems — when in reality their role is often much simpler and more powerful than that.

Understanding what labour normally looks like, how birth physiology works, and how to support the environment around labour can make an enormous difference.

Many partners often tell me they feel much clearer about their role after my antenatal courses.

Feel free to share this with your birth partner and make sure to visit my website to view my upcoming antenatal courses and secure your space!

Yesterday reminded me why I love running this group 💕

The weather was absolutely awful ⛈️, but so many parents still wrapped up, packed the changing bags, loaded babies into car seats and braved the elements to come along to my free newborn group at Wymondham Abbey.

It was lovely to see new friendships forming, parents supporting one another and families accessing breastfeeding support in a relaxed and welcoming space.

We were also joined by Rosie , who came along to chat to parents about postnatal recovery.

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday – it was so lovely to see you all. 💕

Also, a huge thank you to for allowing me to use this beautiful space for my free newborn groups, and to the lovely volunteer Margaret for keeping everyone supplied with tea and coffee while I was busy supporting parents with feeding.

And thank you to all the other Wymondham Abbey volunteers, who always make us feel so welcome. 💕

✨ Have you had support from myself or Chloe in the past? We'd love to hear from you!

Leave a comment below and help us spread the word about our new joint clinic, so more families can access the support they need, when they need it most. ❤️

Not every baby who struggles with feeding has a tongue tie.

Not every feeding challenge can be solved by adjusting positioning and attachment.

Over the years, both Chloe and I have supported many families with various issues affecting feeding, comfort and settling.

If you're currently struggling with breastfeeding, it's worth seeking specialist support.

Even if everyone says "the latch looks fine". Trust your instinct!

Tomorrow 👀

The waitlist families found out first today…

And I've absolutely loved seeing your messages already 🤍

Tomorrow I finally get to share what I’ve been quietly working on behind the scenes.

Something created with one goal in mind: to help parents feel more supported when feeding doesn’t feel as straightforward as they’d hoped.

I'm not giving away the full details just yet…

But if you’ve ever felt like: “Surely feeding my baby shouldn’t feel this hard?” or “Something still doesn’t feel quite right…”

You’re going to want to keep an eye on this tomorrow ✨
