Many patients assume NHS App notifications are already switched on โ€” but for lots of people, they arenโ€™t. Across Stockton-on-Tees, many NHS App notifications didnโ€™t reach patients simply because notifications were turned off.
You can help by checking your settings and turning notifications ON

If you donโ€™t use the NHS App yet, itโ€™s free, secure, and gives you easy access to your appointments, test results, prescriptions and other NHS services:

Use the NHS App to view your health information and manage your healthcare online using a phone, tablet or computer.

Are you contacting us via SystmConnect online form for a routine query?
Requests for routine appts such as bloods, smears, vaccines and general health checks will be dealt with promptly but you may not receive an immediate reply.
Do not worry, you have not been overlooked so please do not submit multiple requests for the same issue as it is clogging up the system and delaying appointments being offered.
Thanks!

What is a Salaried GP?
You may hear us refer to some of our doctors as Salaried GPs โ€“ but what does that actually mean?
๐ŸฉบOur Salaried GPs- Dr Sophie Howell and Dr Emmanuel Odo are fully qualified GPs who are employed by the practice.
They are experienced doctors who work as part of our regular clinical team.
๐ŸฉปThey can see patients, diagnose and treat illnesses, prescribe medication, make referrals and help manage ongoing health conditions.
The main difference is simply how they are employed. Unlike GP Partners, Salaried GPs don't own or run the practice โ€“ but when it comes to looking after our patients, they provide the same GP care.
๐Ÿ’™ Our Salaried GPs are an important part of our practice team and work alongside our GP Partners, Registrars, nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide care for our patients.

We've shared these figures before, but the numbers remain consistent with 700 appointments missed since April.

Rather than simply reporting the figures again, we'd like to hear from you.

What do you think would help reduce missed appointments?

Would more reminders help? Different cancellation options? Something else entirely?

We'd genuinely value your feedback. Every appointment that isn't attended or cancelled is time that could have been offered to another patient.

Please share your thoughts in the comments ๐Ÿ‘‡

What is a GP Registrar?
You might sometimes be offered an appointment with one of our GP Registrars - Dr Yen Wong, Dr Fatima Halliru, Dr Afia Affum and Dr Nimi Aworinde โ€“ but what does that actually mean?
๐ŸฉบA GP Registrar is a fully qualified doctor who is completing their specialist training to become a GP.
๐ŸฉปThey work alongside our regular GPs and can see patients, diagnose and treat illnesses, prescribe medication and make referrals.
They also have the support of our experienced GPs whenever they need advice.
๐Ÿฅ As a training practice, we're proud to play a part in training the GPs of the future.
So, if you're offered an appointment with one of our GP Registrars, you can be confident that you're seeing a qualified doctor who is an important part of our practice team. ๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŒ Website upgrade incoming!

Our website is getting a refresh as we move to a new and improved platform this week.

Most things should move across seamlessly, but if you've saved specific pages in your bookmarks or favourites, there's a chance some older links may stop working.

If that happens, don't worry. Simply head back to our homepage https://www.yarmmedicalpractice.nhs.uk/ and you'll be able to find what you need from there.

We'll also be making further tweaks, updates and improvements over the coming weeks, so please bear with us if things look a little different from time to time.

Thank you for your patience while we make these improvements. We hope the new website will make it even easier to find information and access our services online.
