Could Moor To Life be right for someone you support? 🌿

Sometimes, it isn’t about changing what a young person is capable of. It is about changing the way they get to experience what they are capable of.

We’ve created a new piece exploring Moor To Life’s approach to alternative education — what learning can look like here, who we may be able to support, and what starting a conversation or making a referral actually means.

If you’re a teacher, SENDCO, education professional, parent, carer or simply someone supporting a young person who might benefit from a different route into learning, this might be worth five minutes of your time.

We’re delighted to share that Moor To Life has been awarded £20,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund’s Awards for All programme.

This funding will support our new Nurture Through Nature Programme: a year-long programme designed to help people connect with nature, with each other and with the landscapes that shape our communities.

Over the coming months, we’ll be bringing people together at Wrangaton for community stewardship days, inclusive outdoor activities, seasonal events and practical conservation projects. Together, we’ll create opportunities for people to learn new skills, share knowledge, build relationships and discover the many ways we can all play a part in caring for the natural world.

At its heart, Nurture Through Nature is about bringing people together through shared experiences in nature, creating opportunities to learn, contribute and feel connected to the places and communities around us.
We are incredibly grateful to The National Lottery Community Fund and to every National Lottery player for making this possible. 🍀

This year we awarded two incredible young people with the Inspiration To All Award for their personal achievements that they should be immensely proud of.

Our young male student received his award for his outstanding resilience and commitment to health & fitness which has springboarded him on to a college course for September.

The second award was for this amazing young lady who dedicated and devoted a real passion to support the sustainability of our beloved Dartmoor Ponies.

We are absolutely over the moon and super proud of the recent outcome for the beloved Dartmoor Ponies.

Dartmoor Ponies are now getting the protection they deserve and we are so proud of the impact and dedication of our students to the cause.

Despite some negative feedback on a video post created by one of our students to highlight the risk, she continued to inspire others to support this project and gained overwhelming recognition. This resilience, dedication and passion is incredible to see.

A massive congratulations to our friends for their unwavering commitment and dedication to these amazing creatures.

We are very proud of our young student who is actively working very hard to share the very sad message about the risk posed to Dartmoor Ponies.

Her understanding from information shared by Natural England, is that these amazing creatures that are a staple in our heritage have the real potential to reach a point of extinction. A call to action to reduce the Dartmoor pony by up to 60% by the end of 2026 is a serious threat and needs your support to stop this now.
