We've heard a few rumours that there's a dementia choir session taking place at Grovelands this afternoon.

Whilst this sadly isn't the case, our door is always open for you to come and have a tour* of our lovely home, and find out more about the day care, respite breaks, dementia support and residential care we offer 🏡

*bursting into song is entirely optional! 😜

Wishing our lovely resident, Phyllis, many happy returns for her recent 90th birthday! 🎂

Phyllis chose to celebrate her special day at Grovelands with a birthday cream tea, joined by family and friends including her daughter, Margaret, and a very special guest - the Birthday Bear!🎈

We’re a little misty-eyed over here at Grovelands - happy tears, of course! 😍

Recently, we celebrated some truly special milestones. 🎉

Mary and Mick marked their incredible Diamond Anniversary, celebrating 60 amazing years together! 💖

Meanwhile, lovebirds Jacquie and David toasted to 50 wonderful years on their Golden Wedding Anniversary! 🥂

There’s nothing quite like witnessing a love that endures through the years. Congratulations to our wonderful couples, and thank you for sharing your special occasions and life stories with us ❤️

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful day out at Ninesprings Country Park, making the most of the fresh air, beautiful surroundings, and great company. 🌳🧺☀️

The highlight of the trip was a lovely picnic, where everyone relaxed together, shared plenty of laughter, and took in the peaceful scenery. Spending time outdoors and exploring the local community is a fantastic way to create meaningful moments, encourage wellbeing, and make lasting memories.

It was a truly enjoyable day, and we're already looking forward to our next adventure!

There were plenty of smiles to go around when Hilary, Activity Co-ordinator from our sister home Portcullis House - Somerset Care , brought in her beautiful orphaned lambs for a special visit! 🐑💚

Our residents absolutely loved meeting the gentle little lambs, enjoying lots of cuddles, smiles, and conversation throughout the visit. Animal visits always bring so much joy, creating meaningful moments, sparking happy memories, and filling the home with warmth and laughter.

A huge thank you to Hilary for sharing these adorable visitors with us and helping to make the day so special!

What a privilege it was, to host serving soldiers from 652 Squadron of Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton to have lunch and spend time with our residents at Grovelands.

Joined by residents from Burnworthy House - Somerset Care , our very own military veterans were able to share their life stories with serving personnel, and compare how things have changed since their own time in the Forces.

The Squadron's visit was a meaningful and poignant reminder of the incredible life stories of our residents, which helped them to feel connected to the services they were a part of.
