🌳 A very special moment at Lavender Fields Care Village🌳

We are delighted to be celebrating the planting of Dementia Forward's Sycamore Gap Sapling in the newly created sensory garden at Lavender Fields Care Village.

One of just 49 saplings nurtured following the tragic destruction of the iconic Sycamore Gap tree, we feel incredibly privileged to have been entrusted as custodians of this special tree, gifted to Dementia Forward by the National Trust.

The planting ceremony will take place on World Alzheimer’s Day - Monday 21 September- making this an especially meaningful occasion. At the heart of our new sensory garden, the sapling will serve as a lasting symbol of resilience, hope and new beginnings- particularly for people living with dementia and their families.

Our sensory garden has been created as a peaceful place of solace, reflection and connection, and we look forward to watching this beautiful tree grow and become a treasured part of the Lavender Fields community. 💜

We’ve had a wonderful few days, including a very special visit from the fabulous Richard and his adorable four-legged friend, Honey! 🥰

Richard’s voice was absolutely fantastic, and our residents thoroughly enjoyed listening to him and spending time together enjoying the music. 🎤🎶

But we have to admit… Honey may have stolen the show! 🐶❤️

With her brilliant tricks, adorable personality and irresistible charm, she had everyone completely captivated. It’s safe to say she won plenty of new fans and won all of our hearts! 🥰🐾

Thank you Richard & Honey for such a lovely visit and we can’t wait to see you again! 💜

Our friends at Dementia Forward are holding Summer Fair Coffee Morning at Ballerina House tomorrow, featuring a tombola, games and live music from Pull Down The Moon. We’d love to see you there to support this fantastic local charity!

☀️ Still soaking up those summer vibes! ☀️

The weather may have turned a little here in East Yorkshire, but at Lavender Fields we’re still all about those summer vibes! 💜

We’re still buzzing from our wonderful Summer BBQ last Friday, when the weather honestly couldn’t have been more perfect. 🍔

To remind us of the beautiful sunshine, the laughter and the wonderful memories we made together, here are a few photos from the day. 📸
