Just a little reminder about our incredible MOSCOT Trunk Show happening next week 😎

We’ll be rolling out the red carpet and pouring the bubbles for all you lovely folk who have been umm-ing and aah-ing about a (or a-nother!) MOSCOT purchase. And most importantly we’ll be offering 25% off all lenses with every MOSCOT dispense!

Over the two days you’ll be able to see and try on MOSCOT frames, sunglasses and clips in all shapes, colours and sizes, and we’ll be joined by the lovely MOSCOT rep Jen who’ll be on hand all weekend to advise and dispense.

🌕🌘A solar eclipse is coming! On Wednesday 12 August 2026, people across the UK and Ireland will be able to experience a partial solar eclipse 🌒🌕

Around 88-96% of the Sun will be covered by the Moon, with the eclipse reaching its peak after 7pm. While partial solar eclipses happen every few years, this one is particularly special - it will bring the most coverage of the Sun seen from the UK since the total eclipse of 1999. ✨

👀 How can you view the eclipse safely? Looking at the Sun can seriously damage your eyes, so it’s really important to take care:

🚫 Don’t look directly at the Sun, even if you’re wearing sunglasses. They don’t provide enough protection.

🔭 Don’t look directly through a telescope, binoculars, camera or phone - even if you’re only trying to line up the projection, you could still put your eyes at risk.

🕶️ If you must view the eclipse directly, use proper eclipse glasses with specially designed solar filters. Make sure they carry the CE or UKCA mark, and check the surface for scratches before using them.

This weekend was Rae & Rae Independent Opticians Summer Social and this year we had the absolute pleasure of joining York Gin for their Gin Tasting and Gin Making experience. Incredible afternoon of all things gin… from botanicals to stills and everything in between!! Even got to leave with our very own bottle of gin 🥴

Our team social finished perfectly at TASCA where we had ALL the food (perhaps too much Georgia Rae 😬😅). Perfect hospitality and even better food. Just note to self… don’t let the pregnant lady order the food again… 😅

Yep... it’s that time of year again! 👓

For two days only, we’ll have the entire current MOSCOT collection under one roof for you to explore.

We’ll be rolling out the red carpet, pouring the bubbles 🥂, and we’d love for you to join us. Browse and try on MOSCOT frames, sunglasses and clips in every shape, colour and size, with expert advice from our wonderful Dispensing Opticians.

There’ll be bubbles, doughnuts 🍩 and 25% OFF ALL LENSES throughout the event.

🚨 STAFF UPDATE 🚨

Last week we were a receptionist short …but luckily we had a very enthusiastic new recruit ready to step in 👶🏻💼

Meet Rufus, 10 months old, part-time milk guzzler, full-time heart thief 💙

Under the supervision of Mum/owner Georgia, Rufus took on reception duties like a pro:

👓 Greeting patients with his best smile and wave (recent skill unlocked ✅)
👓 Attempting to answer the phone (mostly by chewing it)
👓 Supervising frame choices from his high chair
👓 Boosting staff (and patient) morale to record-breaking levels

We can confirm he worked very hard… although payment was demanded entirely in strawberries and Greek yoggy 🍓

Safe to say he’s already everyone’s favourite member of the Rae & Rae team 🥹
