We’re often told to set clear goals, stay focused, and keep pushing. But is that always healthy? If not used wisely, goals can become another voice saying:
• “You’re not doing enough.”
• “You can’t rest yet.”
• “You’re falling behind.”
• “You’ll only be okay when you achieve this.”
Goals can easily become too rigid, oppressive or disconnected from what we actually need. But they can also enhance your wellbeing if they are held more lightly, with more flexibility and compassion.
