This is a personal post on here but I would like to share with you that our dear friend's Rosie Eaglen: Art Work and Steven Foy Artwork exhibition called “Mad for Colour, Mad for Each Other”will open tomorrow at 3.00pm.

It’s been on Steve and Rosie’s bucket list for a long time to have an exhibition showing both of their art works.

And it’s finally happening, here in York at the Norman Rea Gallery, University of York.

It feels so good to have been a small part in organising this; the stars of the show really were and are Rosie, Steve and Michael (aka the Dream Team) with fantastic extra help from Jana, Lucy and Charlotte. So much hard work, effort and enthusiasm has been put into making this extra special.

This beautiful exhibition will be on show until the 11th July so please come and have a look at it at some point.

Rosie and Steve were the first people I became friends with when moving to the UK in 1998. We have been close friends ever since and yep, I might get watery eyes tomorrow.

Glow & Unwind event 😊

Last night 4 lovely ladies joined me for an evening of self care, relaxation, hand reflex, intention setting and a guided facial massage as part of an our “be kind to ourselves routine”!

We laughed, we shared experiences, we enjoyed each others company, we relaxed and everyone left feeling uplifted and calm.

I loved this so much that I am going to offer another one very soon…

This morning I delivered a workshop called Menopause and Ageing at Kyra Women's Project.

We had some wonderful conversations, and I am very grateful that participants felt comfortable sharing their experiences and concerns, as well as asking questions about symptoms, available support, and what perimenopause actually means.

Time flew by, and there was so much more that could have been discussed.

However, I feel incredibly motivated to continue these important conversations about menopause and how we can ensure we are as informed as possible, enabling us to make the choices that are right for us.

By the way, the photo shows a collection of cards, each highlighting a different symptom that may be experienced during perimenopause or menopause.

Last night I attended a lovely workshop by “Ink and Craft York”and “Flicker and Scent”.

We created mandala dot art, followed by blending our own aromatherapy scents; something you will now notice when you step into my treatment room.

My finished mandala certainly wasn't perfect! I took a very freestyle approach, and there is most definitely room for improvement.

Today, a client told me she started knitting again and how much it was helping her mental health, despite insisting she is "not very good" at it.

These two examples got me thinking about how refreshing it is to simply give something a go without worrying about being perfect. How good it feels not to compare yourself to others, not to compete with someone else's beautiful mandala design, but instead to embrace curiosity, creativity and enjoyment.

Life can be full of responsibilities, challenges and tough moments, so this is your reminder to make time for activities that bring you pure joy.

I loved the evening, had so much fun, and enjoyed being in great company.

One of the things I love most about coaching is helping my clients explore what they truly want to achieve in life; and I don't mean professionally.

This morning, I welcomed a wonderful lady who shared that she doesn't want to burden anyone with her worries, yet would love to have someone she can talk to openly and honestly.

And that's exactly what I did.
I listened.

No interruptions. No "I know how you feel." No "I wouldn't do it that way." Just genuine interest, compassion, and a safe space for her to be heard.

I admired her desire not to burden her family (the word burden was her word, not mine). So many women spend their lives protecting everyone else. We are often the carers, the nurturers, the ones people turn to when they need support. We become very good at being strong.

But we also need to protect ourselves.

We need to carve out time for self-care, allow ourselves to be vulnerable, and have someone we can confide in without judgement.

My client left feeling calmer, lighter, less anxious, and ready to start building her own self-care toolbox.

Creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space is something I feel very passionate about, and that's a promise I can make.
