🐉 The Clifton Park Dragons Take on the York Dragon Boat Race! 🐉
On Sunday, the Clifton Park Dragons took to the water for the annual York Dragon Boat Race. We were delighted to sponsor this year's event, made possible through the incredible organisation and dedication of the members of York Rotary, UK. It was a real pleasure to be part of such an amazing day for our community.
Thanks to the fantastic support from our staff, friends, families, and local supporters, we have collectively raised £3,255 for charities across York, including our chosen Charity of the Year, The Island York.💙
What made the experience even more special was the team itself. The Clifton Park Dragons were made up of colleagues from right across the hospital, including consultants, nurses, housekeepers, chefs, radiographers, theatre scrub practitioners, senior leaders and many more.
We're also incredibly proud of our performance on race day, finishing 20th out of 36 teams. As only our second year competing, we're thrilled to be steadily climbing the leaderboard and improving every year! 🚣♀️
A huge thank you goes to Robin and the team at York City Rowing Club for their support with training and team-building sessions. Their expertise and encouragement helped us prepare for race day and work together as one team.
Finally, thank you to everyone who supported us by donating, cheering us on from the riverbank, or taking part in the race. Your support means so much and has helped make a real difference to local charities.
