Skin in your 40s is a different beast. Oestrogen is declining, cell turnover has slowed, collagen production has reduced significantly, and the skin barrier needs considerably more support than it did a decade ago.

A routine that served you well at 35 may simply not be cutting it anymore, and that's worth acknowledging rather than pushing through with the same approach.

The patients who make the most meaningful progress are the ones who address their skin as it is now, not as it was.

If something is starting to bother you, now is the right time to have the conversation, not in another two or three years when there's more ground to cover.

Head to the link in bio to book your consultation at MUSE, or DM us the word SKIN and let's start building a plan that actually works for where your skin is right now 🤍

Dermal fillers are one of the most misunderstood treatments in aesthetics, and also one of the most used. More people have it than most would expect, and when done thoughtfully, the results are almost always undetectable.

Dermal fillers are a hyaluronic acid gel, something the body produces naturally, available in different thicknesses that allow us to mimic and support different structures within the face.

That range of thickness is what gives filler its versatility, and it’s why the same treatment can be used for anything from subtle lip enhancement to restoring the structural foundation of the midface.

For us, getting the structure of the face right is almost always the starting point of any treatment plan. Before skin quality treatments, before anything else. When the face has the right foundation, everything else performs better, and the overall result is more harmonious, more natural, and more impactful.

The difference a well-placed filler treatment makes to how someone looks and feels is something I find consistently rewarding. More rested, more balanced, more like themselves. And that translates directly into the confidence that makes the whole aesthetic journey worthwhile ✨

If your pigmentation keeps coming back or isn't responding the way you'd expect, it's worth looking at what's driving it, not just what you're using to treat it.

Pigmentation is one of the most common concerns we see at MUSE, and also one of the most mismanaged, often through no fault of the patient.

So many people are unknowingly doing things that actively stimulate melanin while simultaneously trying to address it, and that cycle is exhausting and demoralising.

The four things that come up most often in consultation? Inconsistent SPF, a skincare routine that's creating more inflammation than it's resolving, a hormonal component that's going unaddressed, and heat exposure from things like saunas and hot yoga that most people don't even consider relevant.

Treating pigmentation effectively means understanding everything that's driving it, not just reaching for the nearest laser or brightening serum. The triggers matter just as much as the treatments.

This is always the conversation we have before we recommend anything. We want to understand your specific type of pigmentation, your lifestyle, your skincare habits and your hormonal picture, because that's what allows us to build a plan that actually holds.

If you've felt like you've tried everything and nothing is sticking, there's almost certainly something in the approach that can be refined.

The eye area is one of the first places to show the signs of ageing, and one of the most impactful areas to treat.

What you're seeing here is the result of polynucleotides in the under-eye area, and the transformation speaks for itself. The skin appears visibly smoother, firmer and more even, with a significant improvement in the crepiness and fine lines that were making this patient look tired and older than she felt.

Polynucleotides work by deeply stimulating the skin's own repair mechanisms, improving hydration, thickness and elasticity in an area where the skin is exceptionally thin and delicate.

Unlike filler, which adds volume, polynucleotides work on the quality and structure of the skin itself. For patients where the primary concern is crepiness, skin laxity or poor skin quality rather than hollowing, they can be a better fit, and the results here show exactly why.

The under-eye area is one of the most technically demanding areas to treat well. It requires an in-depth understanding of the anatomy, the right product choice and the skill to know which approach, or combination of approaches, will make the most meaningful difference for each patient.

For this patient, polynucleotides delivered a result that has meaningfully changed the way she looks and feels. The eyes are more open, the skin is stronger and more refined, and the overall impression is one of someone who looks well rested and refreshed.

Ten years in aesthetics has taught me that ageing well has very little to do with fighting the way you look and everything to do with understanding it.

The patients who look and feel the best as they get older aren't the ones who've had the most done. They're the ones who started with a considered plan, invested in skin quality as a foundation, and made thoughtful decisions at the right moments.

Skin quality underpins everything, and when it's well supported, every other treatment performs better because of it. Prevention is significantly more effective than correction, and the right plan started early doesn't need to be complicated or expensive to make a real difference over time.

The results I'm most proud of are the ones nobody can put their finger on - a patient who looks well, rested and like themselves, just at their best.

That's the standard I hold every treatment plan to, and it comes from understanding facial harmony, proportion and what each face actually needs.

After ten years, the thing that stays with me most isn't any single clinical outcome. It's the moment a patient looks in the mirror and feels like themselves again. That's what this work is really about.

If the idea of laser puts you off because of downtime, ClearLift was designed for you.

It's one of our most popular treatments at MUSE, and honestly, one of the most underappreciated in aesthetics generally.

ClearLift is a non-ablative laser delivered using the Harmony XL Pro, which means it works beneath the surface of the skin without any damage to the outer layer.

No redness, recovery, or time out of your diary. You can come in on a lunch break and leave looking completely normal.

Zero downtime doesn't mean no results. Over the course of treatments, patients see real, progressive improvement in skin quality, tone and firmness. Collagen production is stimulated, fine lines soften, pigmentation and redness reduce over time, and the overall quality of the skin improves in a way that feels gradual and natural.

It's also one of the few lasers we can use safely on more delicate areas, including the neck, décolletage and around the eyes, which makes it incredibly versatile as part of a broader treatment plan.

It works brilliantly on its own, and even better when combined with skin boosters or other laser modalities, depending on what your skin needs.

If you've been curious about laser but are nervous about committing to something with significant recovery, head to the link in bio to book your consultation at MUSE, or DM us the word CLEARLIFT and we'll send you everything you need to know 🤍

I became a better aesthetic doctor because of my own skin. As a teenager, I suffered from severe cystic acne and went through a course of Roaccutane. Later, during my pregnancies and afterwards, I dealt with psoriasis on my face. Neither experience was easy, and both of them changed me, not just as a person, but as a doctor.

When a patient sits in front of me and tells me their skin is affecting their confidence, I don't just understand it clinically. I understand it personally.

There's no judgement in my treatment room, ever, and that comes directly from having lived it myself.

My skin still isn't perfect. It never will be. But it's healthy, it's managed, and it's mine, and that's entirely down to understanding what it needs and being consistent with the right approach. That's all I want for my patients.

If acne or any skin concern is something you're struggling with, you're in the right place. Head to the link in bio to book your consultation at MUSE 🤍

A straighter, more refined profile without surgery or downtime 👃🏼

This is non-surgical rhinoplasty, and it remains one of the most impressive treatments in terms of the confidence it gives people.

This patient had a small bump on the bridge of her nose that she had been conscious of for years. Rather than surgery, we used a tiny amount of dermal filler placed precisely above and below the bump to create the illusion of a straighter, smoother profile. The nose itself hasn't changed in size. The proportions have simply been refined in a way that brings everything into better balance.

It sounds counterintuitive, adding filler to make something look smaller, but that is exactly how it works. By creating a straighter line along the bridge, the bump visually disappears, and the overall profile looks cleaner and more refined.

Patients who have spent years feeling self-conscious about their nose in photos or avoiding certain angles leave feeling genuinely different about the way they look.

Remember, non-surgical rhinoplasty requires a high level of skill and an in-depth understanding of nasal anatomy. It is not a treatment to shop around for on price. The consultation is also essential, because not every nose concern is suitable for a non-surgical approach, and we will always be honest with you about whether it is the right option.

If this is something you've been thinking about, we'd love to talk it through with you. Head to the link in bio to book your consultation at MUSE 🤍

If you've heard of skin boosters but want something that goes a step further, Sunekos is worth knowing about ✨️

It's one of the most versatile injectable treatments on the market, and in my opinion one of the most underrated. Unlike traditional skin boosters that focus primarily on hydration, Sunekos combines hyaluronic acid with a specific amino acid complex that actively stimulates collagen and elastin production. You're not just temporarily plumping the skin. You're giving it the building blocks it needs to repair and rebuild itself from within.

It works particularly well for fine lines, crepey texture, early laxity, dehydration and thinning skin around the eyes, neck and décolletage. It's also one of my go-to recommendations for patients in their 30s and 40s noticing the first real signs of change, and it complements other treatments beautifully.

Swipe through for the full breakdown of what Sunekos does, who it's for, and what to expect 👉🏽
