BREAKING: Court Sentences Onye Eze Jesus to Six Years in Prison, Imposes ₦20 Million Fine

A High Court in Anambra State has reportedly sentenced controversial spiritual leader and self-acclaimed prophet, Onyebuchi Okocha, popularly known as Onye Eze Jesus, to six years imprisonment and imposed a ₦20 million fine after finding him guilty under the Anambra Homeland Security Law.

The judgment forms part of the Anambra State Government's ongoing crackdown on alleged ritual practices, fraudulent spiritual activities, and the preparation of charms believed to aid criminal activities, including kidnapping and internet fraud.

The case stemmed from the state's prosecution of several high-profile native doctors arrested during the security operation launched in February 2025.

Delivering judgment, the trial judge held that individuals who claim supernatural powers capable of making people wealthy through prohibited practices or preparing charms outlawed by the Anambra Homeland Security Law are liable to imprisonment and financial penalties.

ASP Nuhu, Four Police Officers Plead Not Guilty in OG Million Murder Trial
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Usman Nuhu and four other police officers have pleaded not guilty to charges arising from the alleged extra-judicial killing of 28-year-old musician, OG Million (Oghenemine Ogidi).

The officers were arraigned before the Delta State High Court in Asaba over the April 26, 2026 incident in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area.

ASP Nuhu is facing a murder charge, while the four other officers—ASPs Owoloko Daurou Pamo and Okoh Kelechi, alongside Inspectors Goodluck Kingsley and Omonigho Ahweyevu—are charged with negligent acts causing harm.

According to the prosecution, OG Million was allegedly restrained on the ground before being shot at close range by ASP Nuhu in the presence of the other officers. All five defendants pleaded not guilty.

Justice M. Nduka adjourned the case to July 14, 2026, when the trial is expected to commence.

Delta State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Ekemejero Ohwovoriole (SAN), said the state is fully prepared to prosecute the case and urged the public to remain calm while allowing the judicial process to take its course.

⚖️ The trial is now set to begin on July 14. Many Nigerians will be watching closely as the court examines the evidence.

A Nigerian woman, Barr Ifunanya, has given conditions to any man who wants to marry her..

Read the conditions below as she posted 👇 👇

"I don’t ch∆se husband. I don’t need one. But if you say you must marry me, these are my conditions.

1. You must put me on a monthly salary. I don’t even want to hear stories about your business. “Oh baby, my business is not doing well.” Who cares? You know what they call direct d£posit? That’s what you will put me on. Every month, I should get my allowance.

2. our baby will be b⁰rn through a surr⁰gate because I’m not ru¡n¡ng my b0dy to carry your baby. Some of you have very big h£ads. Big h£ad, big eyes. You will employ a surr⁰gate that will carry that b∆by.

3. When that baby is b0rn, eight nannies must be on standby. I don’t want to hear that after giving b¡rth I can no longer sl££p because a b∆by is cry¡ng, “nyah, nyah.”

The nannies will work in sh¡fts — morning, afternoon, and night. The only time I will stand up for that baby is to br£∆stfeed or maybe hug my baby. Other than that, changing d¡apers and all those things are for the nannies.

4. As my husband, I don’t want to use my two eyes and see you in the house every day. By the time I wake up in the morning, you should already be on your way to work or wherever it is you go.

I don’t care if you’re an ∆rm£d R0⁰b£r. By the time my eyes open to a brand-new day, I better not see you in that house. Drop money for me before you leave. Let me see d0llars on the counter if possible. Say, “Baby, this is for your lunch” or whatever. Then go. By the time I see you again, let it be around 7 p.m. when I’m ready to sleep. You are just there to do your work and get out.

The only days we will be int¡m∆t£ are on special occasions, your birthday, our wedding anniversary and other special celebrations. Other than that, if you touch me, wahala go dey. Those are my conditions if you want to marry me. It’s simple. It’s not h∆rd at all. And let’s not forget, you must buy me a car. Every two years, you will upgrade it. I cannot be driving a 2020 car in 2026. As my husband, you have to do all these things."

VDM v. BLORD: Court Grants BLORD Bail but here’s what many People don’t Understand

When people hear “bail granted,” they quickly conclude:
“He’s free the case is over.”
That is not how the law works.

Linus Williams, popularly known as BLORD, has been granted bail on self-recognizance, with a condition that he deposits his international passport.

Bail on self-recognizance simply means the court released him based on trust. No surety, no property, no third party standing for him. Just his personal undertaking that he will appear in court whenever required. The court is essentially saying, “We believe you will not abscond” but that trust is not without control.

The court also ordered him to deposit his international passport. For an average person, that may not seem like much but for a businessman, that condition carries serious implications. It restricts his ability to travel for international deals, meetings, investments, and expansion opportunities. In simple terms, while he is physically free, his business mobility is limited. The case is now not just a legal issue, it can also affect how he operates commercially.

Now, let’s address the biggest misconception.

Does this mean the case has ended? No.

Let me say this clearly as a lawyer Bail does not end a case. Bail only means the person will face trial without being in custody. The matter is still alive, and the court will continue to hear it until a final resolution is reached.

Also, this does not make him an ex-convict. Under the law, he remains innocent until proven guilty

However, here’s something many people don’t know. A case can actually end without the court delivering judgment. This can happen in situations like:

🥢 When the complainant(VDM) decides to withdraw the case

🥢 When parties (VDM and Blord) settle the matter outside court (especially in non-serious offences)

🥢 When the prosecution decides there is no sufficient evidence and files to discontinue or;

🥢 When the court strikes out the case due to procedural issues

In any of these situations, the case ends but not because the court declared anyone guilty or innocent.

Finally, credit must be given where it is due.
Martins Vincent Otse (VDM) initiated this legal action, bringing the issue into the public and legal space, and Omoyele Sowore also played a role in ensuring that due process moved swiftly.

Bail is not the end of a case it is just the beginning of accountability.

Today, he is out on trust.
Tomorrow, he must answer in court.

Don’t confuse temporary freedom with final victory.

In 2018, he ventured into arbitration and eventually attained the peak of the profession and was in 2023 conferred with the esteemed rank of Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, United Kingdom (FCIArb (UK).

He studied a short course in “Project Risk Management” in the prestigious University of Oxford, United Kingdom and earned a Certificate from the University in February 2025

He was thereafter retained as a Solicitor in the Firm and barely four years after, he rose to become the Managing Solicitor of the Firm in 2013. He had a robust legal practice in the Firm and has to his credit, numerous land mark cases which have shaped the legal jurisprudence in Nigeria.

In recognition of his contributions to the development of law in Nigeria and his excellence in the practice of law, he was elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in September 2024 at the age of 39 years. He is reported to be the youngest Senior Advocate of Nigeria from Anambra State and one of the youngest in Nigeria

Before his appointment as the Honourable Attorney General of Anambra State, he was the Special Adviser to the Governor on Legal Matters and was appointed into that office in 2022.

This is the first time after 20 years, that an SAN is appointed as Attorney General of Anambra State. The last SAN who held that office is Nnoruka Udechukwu SAN.who served during Ngige regime between 2003 and 2006.

Many people have lauded Governor Soludo for the appointment describing it as one done on merit rather than on political consideration, bearing in mind the sensitive nature of that office in the government of the State
