A newborn’s first moments can be critical. Helping Babies Breathe (HBB) is designed to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge and practical skills needed to respond effectively when a baby is not breathing well at birth.

During our recent training, participants engaged in practical demonstrations, simulation exercises, and teamwork focused on essential newborn resuscitation skills. These hands-on sessions help healthcare professionals build confidence and strengthen their ability to provide timely care when it matters most.

At MSSI, we remain committed to strengthening the capacity of healthcare professionals through practical, simulation-based training that contributes to better maternal and newborn outcomes.

Our Basic Surgical Skills Course provided healthcare professionals with essential hands-on training designed to strengthen their confidence, precision, and competence in the surgical environment.

From instrument handling and surgical techniques to suturing and safe operative practices participants gained practical experience that can translate into better surgical care and improved patient outcomes. 👩🏾‍⚕️👨🏾‍⚕️

Every second matters when a newborn is struggling to breathe. Our Helping Babies Breathe (HBB)
training equips healthcare professionals with the knowledge and practical skills needed to recognize birth asphyxia early, provide effective newborn resuscitation, and support babies during those critical first moments of life.

Through hands-on simulation and teamwork, participants practiced essential techniques that can make the difference between life and death. ❤️

Today, MSSI Ghana was delighted to welcome Elaine Sigalet, Head of Education and Advocacy at Mercy Ships, together with her team, on a courtesy visit to our institute.

The visit was an opportunity to strengthen our longstanding partnership with Mercy Ships, a collaboration through which MSSI has supported healthcare training and capacity building across 11 African countries.
