“Man up...Real men don’t cry...Figure it out yourself.”

Many men grow up hearing these phrases so often that they begin to believe they must carry every burden alone. But behind the silence can be stress, anxiety, burnout, loneliness, and emotional exhaustion.

This Men’s Health Week, let’s challenge the messages that make it difficult for men to speak up and seek support.
Take a moment to check in on a brother, a friend, a colleague, a father, a husband, or a son.

A simple conversation could mean more than you think.

There’s one thing we continue to notice during our Mental Health Club meetings and symposiums with students — the questions never end.

Young people have so much on their minds. Questions about pressure, identity, anxiety, relationships, purpose, expectations, loneliness, and simply how to cope. Yet many of them do not always have the right spaces, the right people, or the confidence to ask these questions openly.

That is why these conversations matter.
That is why we keep showing up.

Through every school visit, every discussion, and every shared moment, we are creating safe spaces where students feel seen, heard, understood, and free to speak without fear of judgment. Because when a young person has a sound and safe mind, it positively affects everything they do — academically, socially, emotionally, and personally.

Mental health conversations are not just important; they are necessary. ❤️

So here’s a question for everyone reading this:
Do the young people around you truly have a safe space to talk and be heard?

Mental health is something we all have, yet many people only talk about it when someone is struggling deeply.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we are reminding everyone that mental health is part of everyday life — how we think, feel, cope with stress, relate with others, and even how we see ourselves.

Taking care of your mental wellbeing is just as important as taking care of your physical health. 🤍

Check in with yourself.
Rest when needed.
Talk to someone you trust.
And remember: seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Sometimes, the best support comes from people who truly understand. 💜

At the recent Asanteman Wohohiame Wellness Club meeting, senior members, old students, and university students shared their personal experiences and advice on managing exam stress and anxiety with younger members of the club.

Creating safe spaces where students can learn, speak, relate, and grow together through peer support and honest conversations.

One conversation can make a difference. 💙

Our recent Wohohiame Mental Health Symposium at created a safe space for students to learn, reflect, and openly engage in conversations about mental health.

Through meaningful discussions and shared experiences, we continue to break the stigma and remind young people that their mental wellbeing matters.

This is how change begins — one conversation, one safe space, one student at a time.

What if anxiety comes?

The truth is, anxiety is a part of life. We may not always be able to prevent it, but we can learn how to manage it when it shows up.

Knowing how to pause, breathe, ground yourself, and reach out for support can make all the difference in those overwhelming moments.

Coping with anxiety is not about making it disappear completely — it’s about learning how to navigate it with patience, awareness, and care.

Here are a few simple ways to help you cope when anxiety comes.

We’re still on the journey of taking the mental health conversation to schools, creating safe spaces, and reminding students that their mental wellbeing matters. 💙

This time, we’re bringing the Wohohiame Mental Health Symposium to Dwamena Akenten Senior High School on 25th April, 2026.

One conversation at a time, we’re spreading awareness and breaking the stigma around mental health.
