In this post, we end our journey through Compassion Evangelical Hospital (CEH) by visiting the cashier office. Throughout Guinea, including CEH, patients are required to prepay at the various steps during the journey; patients do not receive a final invoice at the end. The patients find it easier to pay in multiple small amounts. One aspect that patients appreciate about CEH is its honesty in payments. CEH is upfront and transparent about its costs; no staff asks for additional money for a service; and everyone receives a receipt directly from the cashier. All patient payments are overseen by our cashiers, Soromou Alexis and Madeleine Emmanuel Grovogui. They enjoy working at CEH because they get to see the progress of a patient’s treatment and healing as they return to the cashier’s office to make the payments. For Alexis and Madeleine, they are serving God when they are serving the patients. They enjoy working at a hospital founded to share the love of Christ with the people of Guinea. Thank you, Alexis and Madeleine, for your dedication to CEH!
And, thank you to everyone who has walked with us through a patient’s journey at CEH!

We continue a patient’s journey through Compassion Evangelical Hospital (CEH) by
visiting the pharmacy. After the doctors have finished their examination of the patients, they usually prescribe medicines as part of the treatment. A patient could purchase the medicines at a separate pharmacy, but they prefer to do so directly at the hospital. The patients receive their prescriptions from Madeleine and Marlyatou, pharmacy assistants. The two women manage the pharmacy department, keeping track of its inventory, dispensing prescriptions to the patients, and clearly explaining how to take the medications. Even though Madeleine and Marlyatou don’t interact as much with the patients, they enjoy working at CEH because its purpose is to share the Gospel and the love of Jesus with patients. Through the years, many patients have told them that they couldn’t find healing at other health clinics, but they found it at CEH, which they attribute to God’s work in the hospital.
Thank you, Madeleine and Marlyatou, for your hard work and dedication to CEH!

As we continue a patient’s journey through Compassion Evangelical Hospital (CEH), today we take a slight detour to the Emergency Room. Accident and recent trauma patients will bypass all the steps outlined in our previous posts and start their
journey here. These patients will be met by Millimouno Suzanne, the Head Emergency Room nurse. Suzanne manages the Emergency Room (ER) and works with the doctors to take care of the patients before they are released or hospitalized for further treatment. Her job can be the most difficult and stressful within the hospital, as she encounters patients and families dealing with one of the worst days of their lives. So, while she treats the patients, she also works to keep the families calm and informed throughout the process. Suzanne is proud that the hospital is dedicated to ensuring all patients are well-received and treated fairly, especially in the ER. Suzanne also loves working at CEH because patients can experience the love of Christ while being treated here. Thank you, Suzanne, for taking on the difficult but needed task of treating emergency patients at CEH!

We continue a patient’s journey through Compassion Evangelical Hospital (CEH) by showcasing our inpatient nurses, who support hospitalized patients. Jean Mara Soulo and Kamano Rose are both nurses here at CEH. Rose is one of our newest staff, having just graduated from CEH’s nursing school a couple of months ago. They and the other inpatient nurses watch over the patients who stay at the hospital, providing medicines, dressing wounds, and more. Some patients, especially those who require
complex orthopedic treatments, stay for months at the hospital, which gives the nurses plenty of time to get to know patients and their family members. Jean Mara and Rose are both happy to be working at CEH. They enjoy working at a hospital, where the love of Jesus is shared with the patients and families. They want everyone to know about the good work being done here and that they take great care of the patients.
Thank you, Jean Mara and Rose, for the work you do here at CEH!

We continue a patient’s journey through Compassion Evangelical Hospital (CEH) by visiting the operating theater, where some patients will have to attend. The hospital is known throughout the country for its excellent orthopedic and trauma surgery and treatment, and patients are referred to us nationally. Unfortunately, too often the patients come months after the accident or trauma occurred; surgical treatment for these cases is lengthy and complex. The surgeon would not be able to do his job without the support of Coulibaly Lacina, Surgical Director, and Sangaré Nestor, Nurse Anesthetist, and the rest of the OR team. Lacina leads the OR department and works with the team to plan the surgeries, organize the operating theater, and keep it sterile. Nestor specifically ensures the patients understand the process, keeps them comfortable, oversees pre-and-post-anesthetic care activities, helps monitor and stabilize patients during the procedures, and oversees their recovery process. They love working at CEH, where they can bring healing to surgical patients while sharing the love of Jesus with them and their families. Thank you, Lacina and Nestor, for your work and dedication to CEH!

As patients continue their journey through Compassion Evangelical Hospital (CEH), some will visit the Radiology Department, especially those who require surgery. These patients are assisted by Fassou & Roger, who are both Radiology Technicians and Biomedical Engineers. Roger and Fassou take and process the results of X-rays and EKGs to share with the doctors for analysis and diagnosis. The technicians enjoy working at CEH. They received significant additional training from a radiology tech trainer from Côte d’Ivoire in 2024-2025. They are dedicated to ensuring high-quality service at the hospital, for which our patients are very grateful. These patients will experience the love of Jesus, especially through prayer and sharing the gospel.

We continue a patient’s journey through Compassion Evangelical Hospital (CEH). Frequently, during an examination, the doctors will order laboratory tests for the patient to determine the issue and treatment. The patient will likely be met by our Head Phlebotomist, Angél. With quiet efficiency, Angél puts the patients at ease as she draws their blood and sends the vials to the laboratory for testing. René, Director of Laboratory, and Thomas, his Assistant Laboratory Chief, are among several technicians who will conduct tests in the laboratory and send results to the doctors for analysis and evaluation. Though
they do not interact with the patients as much as the doctors and nurses, they love their work at CEH. They combine a desire to see patients restored to good health and
sharing Jesus’s love with the people of Guinea. Thank you, Angél, René & Thomas for your work and dedication to CEH!

We continue a patient’s journey through Compassion Evangelical Hospital (CEH) by meeting the doctors who consult, examine, and treat the patients after the initial review by the clinic nurses. CEH focuses on three main health specialties represented by three doctors. Dr. David Mansaré focuses on outpatient and inpatient family medicine, emergency room, and persons living with HIV/AIDS. Dr. Jean-Paul Gbilimou works in obstetrics and gynecology as well as general medicine. Dr. Paul Sidjani specializes in orthopedic, trauma surgery, and general surgery. The three doctors have chosen to work at CEH because all patients are welcomed and treated fairly with the utmost professionalism. The doctors and their teams are
dedicated to serving patients with love and respect, giving hope and dignity, while
sharing the love of Jesus with the people of Guinea. Thank you, Dr. David, Dr. Jean-
Paul, and Dr. Paul, for your dedication and love for the people of Guinea!

In the previous post, we met the receptionists at Compassion Evangelical Hospital (CEH). Let's continue the patients’ journey at CEH. After being welcomed by our receptionists, patients are cared for by our nurses, the next important step in their visit. Meet Oumou and Hélène, who have both served at CEH for four years. They take vital signs, record patient histories, translate for Pular-speaking patients, assist doctors, and guide each patient to the next step in their care. They also take time to pray with patients and offer encouragement, helping each person feel seen, cared for, and supported. Oumou and Hélène love serving at CEH and sharing the love of Jesus through their work. Thank you, Oumou and Hélène, for the dedication you continue to show to the patients who come to CEH.

At Compassion Evangelical Hospital (CEH), every patient’s visit begins with a warm welcome from our amazing receptionists, Lamarana and Josephine. Lamarana, from the Mamou region, has served at CEH for 17 years, starting as a Pular-French translator before becoming a receptionist. Josephine, from the forest region of southeastern Guinea, has been part of the CEH team for 9 years. Each day, they greet patients, help them register, and explain how the hospital works. In the mornings, they also share the love of Jesus and pray with patients as they wait. Lamarana and Josephine find joy in seeing patients arrive in need and leave with hope and care. They also have a special heart for the children who come through the doors. Thank you, Lamarana and Josephine, for sharing your love of Jesus with the Guinean people and making patients feel welcomed and loved when they visit CEH!
