New Blog Post: The Ancient and the Modern
Dear Friends,
There are remnants of an ancient world interspersed in various metro stops in Athens, Greece. It is said that the building of the Athens metro system facilitated the largest archaeological excavation in Greek history, uncovering over 50,000 ancient artifacts and turning some of the transit stations into underground museums of a sort.
I stumbled upon one such site as I came out at the Monastiraki Station a few weeks ago when wandering Athens for the day post-retreat. I hadn’t heard about this ahead of time, and was surprised to see a super archaeological display as I was exiting the metro.
The ancient and the modern, intermingled together.
I was thinking about that with our own lives. We don’t do away with the old when we integrate the new in our lives…this life is full of journeys and changes and areas where we can both shift and change, while simultaneously recognizing the importance and beauty of where we were before.
My dear friend, I hope, as you travel along, you are able to see the importance of the here and now, and also the importance of where you were along the way.
Have an amazing week.
Love
Krista
