Shiatsu is a non invasive therapy originating from Japan. Based on the provisions of the European Union, it belongs to complementary health treatments. It has spread in many parts of the world and is used as a complementary technique like physiotherapy.
It uses a combination of kneading, pressing, tapping and stretching techniques. These gentle techniques aim to reduce tension and re energise the body.
Shiatsu works with the body's energy flow, known as Ki or Qi.
According to shiatsu specialists disruption to this energy flow can cause illness and disease.
Like acupuncture, shiatsu claims to free blockages to the energy flow (Ki) and restore energy to areas where it is low. A shiatsu specialist does this by pressing on or stretching points on your body that lie along the lines of energy called meridian channels.
Shiatsu stimulates the circulation of your blood, helps to release toxins and tension from your muscles, and stimulates your hormonal system. It helps to lift your mood and make you feel relaxed.

Did you know your body has over 600 trigger points, and most people don’t even know they exist?

These small, tight spots in your muscles can cause pain somewhere completely different.

For example, that headache you keep getting might actually be coming from your neck or shoulders.

Trigger points can refer pain across the body—up into your head, down your arm, or even into your lower back.

Once you understand where these points are, you can finally target the real source of your pain instead of just chasing symptoms.

I’m launching a trigger point course this April where you’ll learn exactly how to find and release these points safely—so if you’re ready to actually understand your body and relieve pain the right way, follow along for the release!

Our bodies are far smarter than we give them credit for. 🧠✨
When we move the wrong way or push too hard, that muscle tension isn’t a 'glitch'—it’s a shield.
Our biological intelligence kicks in, contracting muscles to protect the skeleton from harm.
It’s a natural form of protection.

To help release this tension, Trigger Point therapy and Myofascial massage are essential tools. They help reduce pain, release those protective 'knots,' and restore full mobility to your body. Listen to your body’s wisdom and give it the care it deserves. 🌿💪"

Has anyone recommended stretching because you're experiencing pain, such as back pain or sciatica? But despite this, do you still have pain or even get worse after stretching? Well, then you need to know this. If you suffer from back pain, not all stretching exercises are right for you. Stretching must be tailored to the source of the problem, otherwise it can make the situation worse. A consultation with an experienced therapist is the best solution.

A combination of myofascial massage and trigger point therapy can significantly reduce your pain and restore your mobility after just the first treatment.
