Join us on Tuesday, 20 October for a free scientific webinar hosted by Prof. Mark W. Clemens and Prof. Fabio Santanelli di Pompeo.

The programme will revisit selected presentations from previous IBSW and WCC editions by Mark Venturi and Maurice Nahabedian, exploring ICG fluorescence, perfusion mapping and intraoperative assessment in breast reconstruction.

IBSW began in Rome in 2009 with a scientific meeting focused on breast reconstruction and aesthetic breast surgery.

Subsequent editions continued in Rome, Houston, Tampa and Ischia, addressing evolving techniques, complications, safety and contemporary questions in breast surgery.

In April 2027, the 12th International Breast Surgery Workshop comes to Athens.

Breast surgery continues to evolve through new techniques, new evidence and the critical evaluation of established practice.

From 22–24 April 2027, the 12th International Breast Surgery Workshop will bring the international breast surgery community to Athens for a scientific programme across aesthetic, reconstructive and oncologic breast surgery.

The meeting will also include the 8th World Consensus Conference on BIA-ALCL.

Since its first edition in Rome in 2009, IBSW has continued through meetings in Europe and the United States. In 2027, the programme comes to Athens 🇬🇷

How is the IBSW faculty built?

For Prof. Mark W. Clemens and Prof. Fabio Santanelli di Pompeo, it is a process that extends far beyond a single meeting.

Through years of attending scientific conferences across different countries and engaging with the international breast surgery community, they identify surgeons and researchers whose work, expertise and perspectives can contribute meaningfully to the IBSW programme.
