I’ve always found something beautiful in old things.
Vintage music playing in the background, pearls and gold jewelry even on an ordinary day, flowers in the house, candles lit for no particular reason, a hairstyle that makes me feel like I belong in another decade.
Maybe that’s my way of romanticizing life. Or maybe it’s simply my way of reminding myself that life doesn’t only happen in the big moments.
Most of our life is actually made of very ordinary days.
The way we wake up. The music we listen to. What we wear. What we notice. The little things we choose to surround ourselves with.
And I really believe those small, seemingly insignificant choices shape the way we feel, our energy and eventually, the way we experience our life.
We often wait for something outside of us to change so we can finally feel different.
But I think it works the other way around.
If you want your life to feel different, start by changing the way you show up in it. Change your energy. Change what you pay attention to. Bring a little more beauty into the things you already do every day.
You don’t need to wait for life to become more beautiful.
Sometimes you just have to start noticing and creating the beauty that is already available to you.
I have a soft spot for pearls and jewelry in general. There’s something so timeless and feminine about them, and I love wearing them with the most ordinary outfits, on the most ordinary days.
I think I was born in the wrong decade when it comes to hair.
I love a short bob with volume, soft waves and that slightly old Hollywood feeling. And yes, I’ll do my hair even when I don’t have anywhere particularly important to go.
There’s something about music from another era that completely changes the atmosphere around me. Put it on while I’m getting ready, driving or doing something around the house and suddenly everything feels a little more cinematic.
Maybe this is the easiest way I know to travel back in time.
