The Anger Iceberg is a reminder that all behavior is communication.
Anger is described as a “secondary emotion” because people tend to use it to protect their more raw, vulnerable, and painful feelings. Learning to recognize anger as a protector of raw feelings can be incredibly powerful.
Recognizing and acknowledging the hurt that lies beneath a child or young person's anger can lead to increased empathy, connection, and healing conversations.
