Why does high functioning ADHD often go unnoticed?
Many clients ask me why their ADHD was only discovered in adulthood. From my years of working with a broad spectrum of neurodivergent clients I have learned that high functioning ADHD often goes unnoticed because individuals appear functional in public but often struggle in private.

If you struggle with managing your ADHD don’t hesitate to reach out to me !

For many people with ADHD, coffee is not just about energy. Because ADHD brains naturally have lower dopamine levels, caffeine can temporarily improve focus, motivation, and mental clarity.

Interestingly, many people with ADHD feel calmer after coffee instead of hyper. When the brain finally gets enough stimulation, the mental chatter slows down, and things can feel more regulated.

Coffee may help with:
* Focus & task initiation
* Alertness
* Staying engaged during repetitive tasks

But caffeine is not perfect. It can wear off quickly, causing a “crash” with fatigue or brain fog. Because it blocks sleep signals, it can also mask exhaustion or disrupt sleep.

If you take ADHD medication, be mindful that combining it with caffeine may increase jitters, anxiety, or heart rate.

Our ADHD Workshop, in collaboration with ADHD Belgium, has begun!

With the aim of creating a space where participants could learn more about ADHD, feel seen in their experiences, and walk away with practical tools to better navigate everyday life.

Hearing people say they felt more confident, supported, and less alone is truly the most rewarding part of it all.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and shared their stories so openly. And a special thank you to ADHD Belgium for helping make this workshop possible.

If eating healthy feels harder than it should…
It might not be your fault

If you find yourself reaching for quick, easy foods, skipping meals, or eating chaotically… it might not be about discipline, it might be about how your brain is wired.

ADHD can affect:
* Dopamine regulation
* Impulse control
* Routine and structure

And that directly impacts how, when, and what you eat.

Real change doesn’t come from restriction.
It comes from understanding the root.

Support your brain, and your habits will follow.

The ADHD-Binge Eating Connection

Binge eating isn’t a "willpower" problem—it’s often a dopamine problem.
If you’re living with ADHD, your brain’s search for stimulation doesn't just stop at scrolling or multitasking; it often extends to the plate. Research shows a significant link between ADHD and Binge Eating Disorder (BED), rooted in three specific areas:
* The Dopamine Deficit: High-sugar and high-fat foods provide the quick dopamine "hit" an ADHD brain is naturally searching for.
* Executive Dysfunction: Struggles with impulse control make it harder to say "no" or stop once you’ve started.
* Interoceptive Awareness: Many with ADHD struggle to feel their body’s natural hunger and fullness cues until they are either starving or uncomfortably full.
Understanding that your eating habits might be a self-medication strategy for your brain chemistry is the first step toward food freedom.

Want the full breakdown?
We’ve explored the science of dopamine, emotional regulation, and how to manage the ADHD-food cycle on our blog.

ADHD does not only affect attention. It can also influence eating behaviors.

Research shows adults with ADHD have about 70% higher obesity rates, and children have about 40% higher risk compared to those without ADHD. Impulsivity, dopamine-seeking behavior, and irregular eating patterns can all play a role.

This is not about lack of discipline. It is about how the brain processes reward, hunger, and impulse control.

Understanding the connection is the first step toward better strategies for nutrition, treatment, and long-term health.

ADHD isn’t just about being distracted.
It’s about the daily overwhelm. The mental exhaustion. The storm in your head no one else can hear.

In our latest blog, we talk about:

• How ADHD affects everyday life beyond “symptoms”
• Why emotions can feel more intense and harder to manage
• The impact on relationships
• The gender gap in life satisfaction
• What actually helps improve quality of life

This is about understanding the full picture of adult ADHD and building a life that works with your brain, not against it.

If this resonates with you or someone you care about, read the full blog through the link in our bio.
