Cyclosporiasis is an intestinal infection caused by the protozoan parasite Cyclospora cayetanensis. It is transmitted by ingesting food or water contaminated with sporulated oocysts, most commonly fresh produce such as cilantro, basil, lettuce, raspberries, and other fruits and vegetables. Direct person-to-person transmission is uncommon because the parasite requires days to weeks outside the body to become infectious.

Clinical features

Symptoms usually begin 2–14 days after exposure and include:

* Profuse, watery diarrhea (often prolonged or relapsing)
* Abdominal cramping
* Bloating and excessive gas
* Nausea and vomiting
* Loss of appetite and weight loss
* Fatigue
* Low-grade fever (occasionally)

Symptoms may persist for weeks to months if left untreated. Cyclosporiasis is an intestinal infection caused by the protozoan parasite Cyclospora cayetanensis. 🚨 Stroke Can Happen Without Warning 🚨

Many people ignore early symptoms of a stroke, thinking it will pass. Unfortunately, every minute matters when the brain is not getting enough oxygen.

🧠 Know the warning signs:
• Sudden weakness or numbness on one side of the body
• Face drooping
• Difficulty speaking or understanding words
• Sudden severe headache
• Trouble walking, dizziness, or loss of balance

⚠️ If you notice these symptoms, seek medical help immediately. Acting fast can save a life and prevent permanent brain damage.

✅ The good news is that many strokes can be prevented by:
• Controlling blood pressure
• Managing diabetes and cholesterol
• Eating healthy foods
• Exercising regularly
• Avoiding smoking and excessive alcohol

Your health is your greatest asset. Regular checkups can help detect risk factors early.

If you would have presented with any of these symptoms please visit your nearest healthcare provider for evaluation.
