The mind is primary; intention is the foundation of action. In reality, what our parents—who are the closest people in our lives—can do for us is limited. A well-directed mind can indeed achieve much greater good. So, dwell as an island unto yourselves. Do good and cultivate your mind.

Let's develop our minds to see the situation objectively, recognizing it as it truly is instead of how we wish it to be. Acknowledge what has already happened and remember that the past is gone—consider it as a valuable lesson or example that can guide us move forward with more peace and joy.

A Few Highlights from My Dhammadhūta Activities.

Over the past few weeks, I have taken part in several Dhammadhūta activities. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to learn the Dhamma from many wise teachers. It has been a blessing to share what I have learned with others through my Dhammadāna journey.

I hope these experiences inspire peace and joy in everyone.

Hatred never ends with hatred.

"Na hi verena verāni sammantīdha kudācanaṃ
averena ca sammanti esa dhammo sanantano."

Translation: Hatred is never appeased by hatred in this world. By non-hatred (loving-kindness) alone is hatred appeased. This is an eternal law.

Reflection: In today’s world, we often see cycles of anger and revenge—online, in communities, and even between nations. This ancient teaching reminds us that responding to anger with more anger only fuels the fire. True peace and healing come from compassion, understanding, and kindness. Imagine how different our world could be if we all tried to break the cycle by choosing love over hate, even in small everyday interactions.

To be freed from the cycle of birth and death (samsāra), we must "destroy ourselves"—not in the sense of harm, but by letting go of the ego, unwholesome habits, and attachments. Only then can we rebuild our true selves, experiencing inner joy, peace, and pure happiness...

In the Dhammapada (80), the Buddha said, "Attānaṃ damayanti paṇḍitā," meaning "The wise tame themselves.” By overcoming the ego or purifying the mind, sentient beings find true liberation.

The sound of rain is peaceful to many people, including myself. However, it causes fear and danger for some, particularly those in the forest. As we enjoy the sounds of nature from inside, let us hope that all living things in the forest are safe.
