She’s the performance coach for hedge fund titan Bobby Axelrod on Billions—a key figure at Axe Capital, helping employees excel and guiding Bobby himself on crucial decisions. Axelrod often calls her his most valuable asset.

Much like Wendy, my role is to help professionals, often high performers harness their mental strength and perform under pressure. When anxiety shows up, it’s your mind’s way of trying to protect you—by making you hesitate, doubt, or second-guess. But what if you could flip that script?

Wendy’s secret? Reframe nervous energy as excitement. Shift your mindset so the challenge becomes an opportunity to shine, not a threat to fear.

Next time the stakes are high, remind yourself:
🔹 “I am prepared, capable, and ready to excel.”
🔹 “This is my moment to show what I’m truly made of.”
Your mental resilience determines your results. Master it, and you’ll perform at your absolute best—every time.

Because success isn’t just talent. It’s mind.

As we prepare to say farewell to our helper, who has been with us since the birth of our eldest four years ago, I find myself experiencing a complex blend of emotions.

Balancing my roles as therapist and primary caregiver for my two young girls—aged two and four—feels both daunting and profoundly meaningful. I worry about whether I’ll be able to manage everything on my own and how my little one will adjust to me taking on a more central role in her daily life.

At the same time, I feel a quiet sense of excitement. An opportunity to foster a deeper, more intentional connection with my youngest, guiding her through these formative years with closer attention and care. To nurture and educate with more presence and purpose.

As a therapist and mother, I understand that transitions like these bring both challenge and growth. With patience, compassion, and a little grace, I trust that we will navigate this new chapter—learning, adapting, and ultimately deepening our bonds.

Wishing us all strength and serenity as we step forward. 💫

Working with high performers has shown me that success often masks deeper struggles. Behind their relentless drive for excellence, many carry silent burdens—perfectionism, fear of failure, and burnout.

They chase perfection, hoping it will bring validation, yet beneath that quest is often a fear of inadequacy. This pressure to always perform can be exhausting, leading to emotional suppression and reluctance to show vulnerability.

But growth begins when they take specific, actionable steps:
1. Practice Self-Compassion:
When you catch yourself being overly critical after a mistake, pause and say, ‘It’s okay to be imperfect. I’m learning and growing.’ For example, if you miss a deadline, instead of harsh self-talk, acknowledge your effort and plan how to improve next time.

2. Challenge Perfectionism:
Set a ‘good enough’ standard for tasks. For instance, instead of spending hours perfecting an email, give yourself a time limit—say 15 minutes—and move forward. Celebrate completing tasks rather than obsessing over every detail.

3. Share Vulnerabilities:
Pick one small thing you feel unsure about and share it with a trusted friend or mentor. For example, tell a colleague, ‘I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with this project,’ instead of hiding your feelings. This builds emotional resilience and authenticity.

4. Prioritise Self-Care:
Schedule regular breaks or activities that restore you—like a walk, meditation, or hobbies. For example, set a reminder to step away from work every hour and do a quick breathing exercise or stretch.

Remember: True strength lies in embracing your imperfections and being authentic. Change takes time, but each small step brings you closer to sustainable success.

Have you ever felt the quiet ache when your efforts fall short of perfection? When, despite your unwavering dedication, the outcome doesn’t quite meet your expectations, and you find yourself questioning, “Am I enough?” If you are someone of high standards and relentless ambition, such moments can feel especially heavy.

Yet, in the stillness of those tender moments, remember this: you are inherently whole, beautifully imperfect, and deserving of compassion. Mistakes and setbacks are not marks of failure, but gentle invitations to pause, reflect, and nurture your inner resilience.

These practices are also the ones I cherish in my own journey, guiding me back to grace and compassion whenever I need it most:

✨ Extend Grace to Your Heart — Release the need for perfection; embrace the beauty of your authentic self, with all its flaws and virtues.
✨ Pause and Breathe — In the quiet of your breath, find a sanctuary of calm, where judgment dissolves and love begins.
✨ Refocus with Tenderness — Shift your gaze from what has gone awry to what is still within your gentle control, and nurture that space.
✨ Wrap Yourself in Compassion — Speak to yourself with the kindness you would offer a cherished friend—soft, understanding, and loving.
✨ Set Elegant, Achievable Intentions — Break your aspirations into graceful steps, celebrating each small victory as a sign of your inner strength.
✨ Seek Sanctuary in Connection — Remember, even the most luminous stars seek the comfort of others’ light. Reach out, and let your soul be nurtured.

Even the brightest stars encounter moments of darkness. It is in these quiet, tender spaces that your resilience deepens, and your true radiance shines through. Trust in your exquisite capacity to love yourself through every imperfection — for you are infinitely worthy, just as you are.

With gentle reverence,
