More and more adults are being identified with ADHD, and a question that comes up a lot is: why now?

Psychologist Dr Katrina Rozga explains why so many people were overlooked, what ADHD can actually look like in adults, and why years of coping strategies can eventually lead to burnout.

If any of it sounds familiar, it doesn't necessarily mean you have ADHD, but it does mean it's worth exploring. Formal assessments are available, and speaking with a mental health professional is a good place to start.

"I want to k*ll myself" has become a punchline. Something people say when they're tired, frustrated, bored. Said often enough, it stops landing.

But for the people who mean it, it was never casual.

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day. If someone you care about says it, stay in the conversation. If you're the one who means it, don’t carry it alone.

If your child struggles with transitions, gets upset by unexpected changes, or needs constant reminders about what's coming next, visual schedules might be the tool you're looking for.

Lead paediatric occupational therapist Lorena Maré explains how giving children a clear picture of what to expect reduces anxiety, eases transitions, and builds genuine independence.

Our visual schedule magnet set (available to purchase at reception in our MindWorX clinic) was developed alongside occupational therapists and includes 3 illustrated routine boards and 102 activity magnets you can mix and match to suit your child's unique day. Many children process pictures more easily than spoken instructions, so instead of repeated reminders, they get something concrete to follow.

As kids head back to school, it's natural to notice how your child communicates compared to others. And sometimes, that's when certain things stand out.

Speech and language therapist Grace Leung-Aprea shares what to look out for: difficulty finding words, not being understood by unfamiliar adults, frustration when trying to express ideas, or struggling with greetings and joining in conversation.

If something feels off, trust your instinct as a parent. Early support really makes a difference.

If your child is struggling with the idea of going back to school, that's completely normal.

Occupational therapist Kirstin Thornburrow shares simple ways to ease the transition: reintroducing structure gradually, building a visual schedule together, and validating emotions before problem-solving.

If your child is finding transitions consistently difficult, an occupational therapist could help.
