👶 為BB多走一步：初生嬰兒篩查計劃

每個BB都係爸爸媽媽嘅心肝寶貝。為咗俾大家多一份安心，明德國際醫院現已為合資格嘅新生BB 提供「初生嬰兒篩查計劃」。

呢項計劃涵蓋30種先天性代謝病（IEM）、嚴重聯合免疫缺陷病（SCID）同埋脊髓肌肉萎縮症（SMA）。喺BB出世後，只需一個簡單喺腳掌抽血，就可以幫父母更早了解BB嘅潛在健康狀況。🦶🏻

萬一報告顯示有需要關注嘅地方，我哋嘅醫護團隊會即時協助，將BB轉介俾合適嘅專科醫生作進一步評估，等BB可以盡快得到最合適嘅照顧。

This screening covers 30 Inborn Errors of Metabolism (IEM), Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID), and Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). Identifying potential health conditions right from the start allows families to understand their baby’s health profile sooner.

好開心可以再次歡迎一眾「明德BB」同爸爸媽媽返嚟山頂，一齊享受充滿歡笑嘅下午。由充氣彈床、魔術表演、美味小食，到精彩嘅音樂故事時間，每一刻都充滿小朋友嘅歡笑聲。

To continue providing a smooth experience, our Central pick-up and drop-off point has been relocated near City Hall. Please refer to the updated map and timetable on our website to find the exact spot! (The hospital stop remains unchanged).

💡 A quick travel tip
Traffic around the Central area can be unpredictable, which may occasionally cause slight delays to the schedule. Please also note that early boarding may not always be available. We recommend allowing a little extra time for your journey.

BB 發脾氣，其實係一種溝通
當寶寶前一秒仲笑得好甜，下一秒可能就哭鬧、抗拒、黐身，甚至突然情緒大爆發，搞到爸媽都好無助。其實，BB未必只係「扭計」。對年幼孩子嚟講，情緒往往係佢哋表達需要、疲倦、不安，或者想被安撫嘅方式。

寶寶首三年係情緒發展嘅重要階段。父母及照顧者可以透過溫柔回應、眼神接觸、擁抱、穩定作息同耐心陪伴，幫助寶寶建立安全感，慢慢學習理解同調節自己嘅情緒。

Your baby’s tantrum is actually a form of communication
One moment your baby is smiling sweetly, and the next they might be crying, clinging, resisting or having a sudden emotional outbursts, which can leave parents feeling rather helpless. In reality, babies are not simply being difficult. For young children, emotions are often their way of expressing needs, fatigue, anxiety, or a desire for comfort.

The first three years are an important stage in a baby's emotional development. Through gentle responses, eye contact, cuddles, stable routines and patient companionship, parents and caregivers can help babies build a sense of security and gradually learn to understand and regulate their emotions.

Every moment of being understood is a step towards building a stronger sense of security. To all parents, you are doing a wonderful job! 💛

🩸大便有血，未必一定係痔瘡！
你有冇試過如廁後，見到紙巾有血、糞便帶血絲，或者廁所水被染紅？呢啲情況都可能係直腸出血嘅跡象。

直腸出血可以由較常見問題引起，例如痔瘡或肛裂；但有時亦可能同腸道炎症、感染，甚至大腸癌有關，所以唔應該掉以輕心。

不同血色亦可能反映不同出血位置：
🔴 鮮紅色血液：可能來自肛門或直腸等較低位置
🟥 深紅色／棕紅色血液：可能來自結腸較高位置或小腸
⚫ 黑色大便：可能與胃部出血有關

如果出現不明原因嘅腸胃症狀，例如直腸出血、腹瀉、腹痛或貧血情況，建議盡早尋求醫生專業評估。早期檢查，有助了解原因並作出適切跟進。

🩸 Blood in stool? It’s not always haemorrhoids
Noticing blood on toilet paper, blood in your stool, or red-coloured toilet water after opening your bowels may be a sign of re**al bleeding.

Re**al bleeding may be caused by common conditions such as haemorrhoids or a**l fissures, but it can also be related to inflammation, infection, diverticular disease, or even colore**al cancer.

The colour of blood may also give clues about where the bleeding comes from:
🔴 Bright red blood: may suggest bleeding from the a**s or re**um
🟥 Dark red or maroon blood: may suggest bleeding higher in the colon or small bowel
⚫ Black stool: may suggest bleeding from the stomach

Unexplained gastrointestinal symptoms, especially re**al bleeding, diarrhoea, abdominal pain or signs of anaemia, should be assessed by a healthcare professional.

癌症真係避無可避？子宮頸癌其實有得預防！ 🌸
其實，子宮頸癌係少數可以透過定期篩查同接種 HPV疫苗預防嘅癌症之一。子宮頸癌通常形成得比較慢，早期未必有明顯症狀，而主要成因係感染某些類型嘅人類乳頭瘤病毒（HPV）。

可以留意以下幾點：
• 子宮頸抹片檢查係篩查子宮頸癌嘅重要方法。
• 香港衛生署建議 25–64 歲有性經驗女性定期接受子宮頸抹片檢查；如果連續兩年結果正常，其後可每三年檢查一次。
• 接種 HPV 疫苗亦係預防子宮頸癌嘅其中一個方法。

Are all cancers inevitable? Cervical cancer can actually be prevented! 🌸
Cervical cancer is one of the few cancers that can be prevented through regular screening and HPV vaccination. Cervical cancer usually develops slowly and may not show obvious symptoms at an early stage. Its main cause is infection with certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV).

Key points to note:
• A Pap smear is an important screening test for cervical cancer.
• Hong Kong’s Department of Health recommends that women aged 25–64 who have had sexual experience should have regular cervical screening. After two consecutive normal yearly tests, screening can be done every three years.
• HPV vaccination is another way to help prevent cervical cancer.

Early awareness can make a real difference. 💗
